NOTD - Fairy Dust ...

Wednesday, 23 November 2011

Long time no speak!

I've just seen that i haven't blogged since last Tuesday, that is very naughty of me! I've just been feeling so zapped when i get in from work i literally just lounge around lurking on Twitter and watching trash TV!

I have some exciting ideas forming for my blog so hoping to execute those soon and keep all you lovely ladies entertained :)

Anyways onto today's post ...

I've seen this style of nail art floating around in BlogLand a lot recently and had to hop onto the train and show you guys my take on it :)

I used 17's Sphinx nail polish which is a pale gold colour and i teamed it with a few staggered layers of  OPI's Teenage Dream. I also added a thin layer of Barry M's Hologram clear glitter polish. I love the way this shimmers and sparkles and looks like fairy dust sprinkled over my fingertips!

Cant wait to try this out with other colours!!

I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece ...

Thursday, 14 July 2011

I finally took the plunge and now own my first OPI nail polish!!

I've been lusting after this particular shade for months but i just couldn't justify spending £10 on a nail polish :(

After scouring eBay night after night for a bargain but to no avail, i was close to giving up and trotting down to Boots to find myself a dupe  .... and then i found it!!

A gorgeous bottle of pink sparkles. Glittering and gleaming away like a penny in a wishing well ....

I am, of course, talking about Katy Perry's Limited Edition 'Teenage Dream' shade of OPI Nail Lacquer :)

I was a bit apprehensive about choosing a glitter nail polish, flashbacks to my 13 year old self getting ready for school disco's, but i shouldn't have worried.

The polish is a gorgeous sheer pale pink with heaps of glitter running through it. I used two coats which was suffice and left my nails gorgeous and frosted. The polish was thick and slightly gloopy but dried quickly.

I do love the finished look - so sparkly and the pink is a delightful princess pink colour that would look great against a white or black outfit.

I've seen pics of this shade used under a black shatter polish floating around on the net and I'm so going to be trying that :)

What OPI shade should i try next?

xoxo
