All I Want For Christmas ... a xmas wishlist

Sunday, 2 December 2012

On the first day of Christmas .... Tra la la la la, la la la laaaaaaaaa ...

I'm well and truly embracing Christmas this year! Yesterday i spent the day doing Christmas crafts and putting up a little pink tree with the boyfriend's little girl. We made angels and Santa's out of toilet roll tubes!

I put together a little Christmas Wishlist ... i don't for one second think I'll ever get a Chanel bag but hey, aim high ;)

Up until yesterday i didn't think there was anything i wanted for Christmas except maybe an iPad but a quick late night online window shop proved very fruitful and i found some little gems that I'd like to see in my stocking!

Anything Santa doesn't bring I'll add to my birthday list which is only 2 months away now, ha.

Also, i just need to add this was my first attempt at a product collage and I'm quite impressed. Teaching myself basic Photoshop skillz at half 7 on a Sunday morning is not what i envisioned but at least i achieved something this weekend :p

Lush Butterball ...

Friday, 30 November 2012

Two nights ago, with the boyfriend at the pub i run myself a steaming hot bath, lit some new winter scented candles and let off a Butterball bath bomb into the bath. It was the most delightful bath EVER!!

Butterball has a heavenly vanilla scent, and silky soft moisturising cocoa butter chunks infused within it.

Mine fizzed and dissolved quickly but didn't leave any bubbles. I wondered if this is because i had this bath bomb for about 6 months or more but forgot about it during busy times and moving, etc. This is the second Butterball I've used and cant remember whether the first one let off any bubbles either - anyone know?

The scent is long lasting which i love and my skin feels thoroughly replenished after use. One note, it does leave a greasy residue around the bath afterwards so best to give the bath a quick wipe over when you get out.

I absolutely adore this product, i think this is actually my favourite Lush product! It is also a steal at just £2.45 :)

What's your favourite Lush product?

This is your life ...

Sunday, 27 November 2011

I recently got an iphone *mexican wave* and i loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it! How did i survive so long without one!!?

Now that i have a much easier phone to navigate my everyday life with i have been taking a lot more photos (i seemed to have abandoned my usual 'blogging' camera as we seem to be bickering about what decent shots actually mean, ha. Roll on Christmas, hello Santa!) Anyways, i thought I'd share some snippets from the last month as i love reading all your adventures!

Maple and Walnut cupcake - delish! *also very sickly*

My attempt at making a guy for Fireworks Night for the reception desk at work #fail

Oh hai there Instagram!

Anchor tights <3

The bf finally got a Christmas jumper after 4 years of wanting one!

Digging out my Christmas stocking :)

Neiiigh! We decorated the meeting room doors at work - why not jazz up that boring meeting?!

I went to the #ldnxmasbloggermeet and got some lovely goodies :)

Payday Lunchtime treat!

A Day To Remember - i was riiiiiiiiiiight at the back at the top on the balcony hence why this is fuzzy wuzzy!

I got a purple lipstick - but its reallllly dark. Channelling my inner goth!

Had a sort out of my wardrobes and found my Winter accessories box!

Took the work car for a bath - scary times! Hate car washes, last time i took it out i got stuck in one!

Krispy Kreme Xmas Tree - wasn't too impressed actually, quite dry!

Me and the bf tried to order a pizza WITHOUT cheese as he cant have dairy ...

... it came with a bit of cheese on :( we still had a delish feast though.

First time ordering online with Domino's, they had such an extensive pizza menu it was hard to decide, but opted for the Create Your Own so we could try and minus the cheesy topping.

Create-your-own pizza (Regular crust, meatballs, chicken, mushrooms, onions and sweetcorn) Yum!

We also got potato wedges, chicken wings, cookies and a drink - absolute fatties!

Me, full to the brim, about to give birth to a food baby, lol!

Was chuckling to myself at this little potato character - the bf didn't find it as funny as me :/

Am loving having a iphone/ipod again :) Put on looooooooads of my music as i can link my phone to my car stereo and leave it on shuffle while driving.

Shuffle seems to be favouring 36 Crazyfists at the moment, taking it back to the old-skool and i love it!!

I hope to make this a regular feature but you and i both know that I'm rubbish at keeping these things up! Remind me if i haven't posted one in a while :p

Hope y'all are having a nice weekend :)

Lush Ma Bar - Toffee and Chocolate bubble bar goodness ...

Saturday, 29 October 2011

I recently treated myself to a few Lush products and could not resist this chocolate cake look-a-like!

Ma Bar is a delish toffee and chocolate bubble bar that smells exactly like caramel with a hint of choc - it.is.amaze.

It has quite a squidgy to touch and when crumbling it has the texture of uncooked cookie dough ... if you are wondering if it tastes like cookie dough i can assure you it does not! (yes, I'm a fool ... i totally have to lick something that's so pretty and delicious looking - does anyone else do that? Nope, just me then! o_0)

How to use your bubble bar:

1. Crumble under running water.
2. Swish, swish, swish.
3. Revel in big, frothy piles of bubbles.

(instructions borrowed from the Lush magazine)

Unfortunately i didn't get any photos of it while using it in the bath but it frothed up quite nicely although the bubbles didn't last long.

I did find my skin silky smooth and hydrated after using the Ma Bar and the yummy scent lingered on my skin until the next morning :)

I would buy this product again purely for its delicious smell and moisturising qualities :)

RRP: £2.50/100g

Funny story: I was casually perusing the bright and colourful stands when an overly friendly sales assistant bombarded me with greetings and shoved a wicker basket in my hand - she then proceeded to chat to me for about 10 minutes as if we were life-long friends!

Has this happened to anyone else in Lush?

Izzy Wizzy Lets Get Fizzy ...

Monday, 17 October 2011

A while back i was searching eBay for Christmas gift ideas when i found a seller who sold handmade bath bombs with many gorgeous 'flavours'. I decided to place an order and give these beauts a try to see how they compared with bath-ballistic giants Lush.

I opted for 6 fizzing bath bombs in total:

...  how cute is the packaging they arrived in!!? Just like a little treasure chest :)

(L)  Apple pie & custard (R) Banoffee Pie

(L) Romance (R) Pink Sparkle

(L) Christmas Pudding (R) Hawaiian (i think...)

Look at the size of them, they're huge!

Once plopped in the bath these balls bubbled and fizzed really well (although towards the end they did need a helping hand).

I got an unpleasant surprise from the Romance bomb - released from this ball was hundreds of bits of dried flowers and twig-like foliage. To some this may be nice and add to the relaxing aura but for me it was mulchy and i spent an age fishing out all the little bits from around the bath once the water had drained!

All the scents smelt amazing! Especially the Christmas Pudding flavour and how cute does it look!

The one thing about this particular bath bomb was that it left the water a scary blood/rust colour ...

... argh!!? ...

My favourite was the Pink Sparkle as it exploded with glitter - absolutely gutted i didn't get any pictures of this one (but I'm sure you've all seen similar by the likes of Lush)

Unfortunately i can no longer find the seller on eBay to link you guys to them but I've had a quick search round and there's hundreds of homemade bath bombs on there with so many gorgeous scents! I'd love to try handmade soaps next :)

Have you tried any other brands of bath bombs? How did they fair compared to Lush?

Lush!

Monday, 21 February 2011

So i recently had a birthday and my sister got me some delicious Lush products. Up until a few months ago i had never tried any of their products but was bought some for Christmas and adored them! I'm really looking forward to getting a few more bits in the near future and have a 10% discount voucher to use so will definately be stocking up!

Out of this World

How neat is the packaging! My sis got me the Out of This World giftset which includes a soap bar and one of Lush's famous 'Bath Ballistic' fizzy bath bombs. As you can see from the pics the products come boxed and wrapped up in space inspired wrapping paper. Once opened the two products lay inside the box on a bed of 'popcorn'!

And the products inside the gorgeous packaging are even cuter!

Rock Star Soap
I dont usually use soap and tend to favour shower gels as i find soaps dry my skin out and leaves a squeaky sheen over my skin so i was unsure whether i'd like the Rock Star Soap .... it is adorable though! It has the most amazing scent .... the Lush website claims for the soap bar to be vanilla. It took me a couple of uses to identify what the smell was and then it hit me.... Parma Violets (remember the little purple tablet sweets!) Gorgeous! The soap bar cleans well and although the smell is divine it isnt long lasting but i would defiantely purchase again :)

Space Girl Bath Ballistic

I absolutely adore Lush's Bath Ballistic fizzy bombs! I first tried one at Christmas when i recieved a Christmas Pudding fizzy bomb. I've tried lots of different bath bombs in the past and most of them loose their fizz after a few moments in the water and you have to tease the bomb and help it to disintegrate. With Lush's Bath Ballistics this is not the case...they completely break up, fizz and froth all on their own. The Space Girl Bath Ballistic was a gorgeous grapefruit flavour (although this also smelt like Parma Violets just like the soap bar - maybe this has something to do with them being stored side by side unwrapped in the box?). It turned the bath water purpley blue in colour and had glitter mixed throughout the bomb. A great little treat to jazz up bath times!!

Do you have any suggestions of what to try next?
