Scarlett Fashion - Sugarhill Sorbet Sweater

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

I love spring! It’s my most favourite season. I love the colours – lemon, mint green, whites! I like that it’s just warm enough to go out without a coat! I love lambing weekend and seeing baby chicks! And Easter Eggs!
And I absolutely adore this jumper from Scarlett Fashion! It's by Sugarhill and it’s the perfect transitional piece to go from these chilly winter days that are lingering to sunny spring ones!

I was very lucky enough to receive this jumper from Karen at Scarlett Fashion. A little boutique based in Preston with a extensive website featuring fabulous clothing and accessories from a range of brands including Sugarhill, Yumi and b.young. There's also beautiful Jewellery By Scarlett.
A massive plus for me is that Scarlett Fashion accepts PayPal payments! I do love shopping with my eBay monies!
Lets get back to the jumper! ...
The jumper itself is a lovely soft, fine knit and has beautiful flecks of colour throughout the pinky peach and baby blue yarn. I love the cute cream heart on the front too!
I ordered a Medium which I would say is roughly a size 8-10. This is the ideal length to wear with leggings or jeans and I’m so looking forward to wearing this when the weather warms up with coloured skinnies!
I live and die in jumpers and leggings at the moment and this has really brightened up my wardrobe from the usual blacks and greys I tend to turn to! I can see this lasting me throughout Spring/Summer as a go to item when I want to lounge around or throw something over a vest or tee when there's a chill in the air.
You can check out the full range of brands, clothing and accessories at Scarlett Fashion.
What items are you wearing as transitional pieces for Spring?

Lush Butterball ...

Friday, 30 November 2012

Two nights ago, with the boyfriend at the pub i run myself a steaming hot bath, lit some new winter scented candles and let off a Butterball bath bomb into the bath. It was the most delightful bath EVER!!

Butterball has a heavenly vanilla scent, and silky soft moisturising cocoa butter chunks infused within it.

Mine fizzed and dissolved quickly but didn't leave any bubbles. I wondered if this is because i had this bath bomb for about 6 months or more but forgot about it during busy times and moving, etc. This is the second Butterball I've used and cant remember whether the first one let off any bubbles either - anyone know?

The scent is long lasting which i love and my skin feels thoroughly replenished after use. One note, it does leave a greasy residue around the bath afterwards so best to give the bath a quick wipe over when you get out.

I absolutely adore this product, i think this is actually my favourite Lush product! It is also a steal at just £2.45 :)

What's your favourite Lush product?

OOTD - Ahoy There ...

Tuesday, 8 November 2011

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the dodge pictures ... taken at the bf's where space is very limited. I had to stand on the bed (lime green bed covers, hello!) as there isn't enough floorspace for both of us! We need to move out right!? There's also some weird facial expressions/mouth positions going on up there, ha.

Sunday night i went to see The Blackout at the Roundhouse in Camden. Love The Blackout - this was probably the 6th time I've seen them :)

As you'll see above this is the outfit i wore that evening. Been dying to where these tights for absolutely ageeeees! I first saw them here on Aly's blog and went on a desperate hunt to own them. Unfortunately my local Primark didn't stock them :( but thanks to the power of Twitter the amazing Leanne picked me up a pair and brought them with her to our London blogging meet back in August. Yes, its taken me that long to find an occasion to wear them!

I teamed the tights with my trusty denim skirt (bought from Topshop about 7 years ago!!) and an Atticus polo shirt. I also added some cosy grey knee high socks as it was pretty chilly and the tights are fairly sheer.

Had an absolute blast and on the way we got a masssive foot long subway (meatball, cheese, non-toasted on Italian herb and cheese bread and allllllll the salad!) *drool*

Upcoming gigs:

Frank Turner @ Hammersmith Apollo

Gallows (new line up!) @ XOYO

InMe @ Islington Academy

Frank Turner @ Wembley Arena

Thanks again to Leanne for picking these up for me, much appreciated :)

OOTD - Cosy Winter Brights

Friday, 4 November 2011

I'm loving this skirt at the moment! You may have seen it here previously. It's a gorgeous colour and perfect for winter. My only gripe with the skirt is that it keeps riding up and 'bunching' :( #sigh

Today i teamed it with this bright paisley print gypsy style top which i got a couple of winters ago. Looks quite dressy without being too 'done' if you get me.

I picked up this snuggly waterfall cardigan in Asda yesterday in my lunch break. Yep, you heard right its by George @ Asda and comes in at a barginous £14! It came in loads of other colours too - tempted to pick up the camel coloured one next week.

A very good friend of mine popped up to say hello in my OOTD pics today, haha. I'd like you to meet Fredrick! I was having a right 'mare trying to take these shots - just couldn't get any that looked decent. Towards the end of the 'shoot' i got a bit fed up hence the silly shots, haha. Hope you dont mind :p

Look of the Day - Preparing for Autumn

Monday, 22 August 2011

Hey guys, was rummaging through my wardrobe and came across my bargain jumper of last Winter and put together a quick OOTD to share with y'all.

Jumper/Dress - Primark - £5 (sale rail last Winter)
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins - £3 (sale rail)

I love this V-neck jumper, its a lovely length so i tend to wear it as a dress with cosy black tights. I always jazz it up with a number of accessories. Simple yet striking :)

Totally loving my hair in the side bun right now :)

Recently on one of my many unsuccessful shopping trips (hunting for a dress for a wedding is proving to be a challenge!) i picked up this cool felt floppy hat!

Hat - H&M - £9.99

I really like it but not sure whether I'd actually wear it (plus the bf will not approve and laugh! Boys, tsk)

I actually picked it up for my holiday but I'm not sure if it's too Autumn/Winter for a beach holiday? Thoughts? ...

I couldn't take any decent close-up shots of me and the hat so you'll have to make do with this emo-esque pose :p

Do let me know your thoughts on the hat as I'm heading back to H&M in the week to return some other bits ...

3 Ways to Style ... A Lace Shift dress

Friday, 19 August 2011

Take one simple shift dress, add a few accessories, a jacket or some knee high socks and voila! instantly updated outfits :)

I worry about wearing cream/white/pastel shades as I'm always expecting some drunken fool to spill berry coloured drinks over me or for some slimey child to rub crusty Wotsit fingers along my hemlines - so as much as i love this dress i haven't had a chance been too afraid to wear it yet :(

Today I'm going to show you my gorgeous cream lace shift dress that i bought a couple of months ago and three ways to wear it:

High Summer:

excuse my paleness - no sun = no excuse to fake tan

plain and simple - just chuck on a bangle and some sandals and you're good to go ...

Autumnal Day:

add some chunky knee-high socks when the weather turns chilly ...

Chilling Winter Evening:

teamed with my trusty leather jacket and thick black tights for Winter-chic ...

Dorothy Perkins - £10 (sale)

So there we have it ... 3 Ways to Style: A Lace Shift Dress.

How would you wear this dress?

Day 4 - 30 Day Challenge - A photograph of yourself two years ago ...

Sunday, 1 May 2011

This is the interesting day that i like to look out for when i see people taking this challenge. 2 years ago seems like ages but the way time flies by these days it really wasnt that long ago! So here's me back in 2009....

Day 4 - A photograph of yourself two years ago:

This was taken in January 09 i believe - we were at a club for a friends birthday and it was freeezing in there so i wore my fur coat all night! I was sporting curly ringlets and was thoroughly embracing the white blonde hair!
