I'm bring Emo back ...

Monday, 26 November 2012

1. Bargain dress - ebay 2. oh haii there 3. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Lickable

My first OOTD since reviving the ol' blog!

I absolutely love this outfit (the bf does not!) It reminds me of cute Japanese/schoolgirl fashion.

This dress was an absolute bargain find on ebay for 99p, love it when this happens. Its exactly what i had been looking for :) I teamed it with a long sleeve black tee from Primark's basics section and some opaque tights.

Not seen in these pics but i was also wearing my Creepers! I think i shall call these my Marmite shoes as you either love them or hate them (most people i know hate them!)

And what do you guys think of the lipstick? Wearing MAC's Lickable which is a real bright pink! I'm still undecided.

OOTD - New Year, New Start ...

Thursday, 5 January 2012

New Year, New Start!

That's my motto for this year.

Happy New Year to y'all, hope you had a good one. I've had this past week off work and have hit the shops while everyones been back at work/school. It has been loooooovely. Quiet, peaceful, a really relaxing shopping experience. I cant deal with the shops if they're busy and messy, hence why my sale spree never really materialised.

I picked up these sparkly shorts in H&M during the week and love them! They're slightly high-waisted which is something i have shyed away from in the past. I've always wanted a pair of high-waisted shorts but have told myself i will treat myself to a nice pair once I've sorted out my bikini body. I didn't realise they were high-waisted when i bought them (never try anything on ...) but i think they look ok, plus now i have the added incentive to begin (and stick to) the 30 Day Shred.

These photo's were also the first I've taken with my new camera! Still getting used to it, hoping for some nicer weather so i can go out and about and practise taking some snappy snaps.

Hows 2012 treating you so far? What are your hopes and dreams for the year ahead?

OOTD - City Chic ...

Sunday, 13 November 2011

A quick and simple outfit post for you today. I took these photos early last week and completely forgot about them, naughty blogger!

Trying to jazz up my work wardrobe a bit as i get a bit bored just wearing the same dresses or top/trouser combos each week ... plus they don't make for great OOTD's do they! ha.

Here i teamed some black city shorts from Primark with chunky grey knit tights from New Look. I wore my new fave fuchsia pussybow top (which i just realised i haven't shown you's yet!) under a simple grey knitted jumper that Ive had for a couple of years now. I added some black brogues which aren't pictured unfortunately.

Simple but chic.

How do you jazz up your work wardrobe? I'd love to see examples!

OOTD - Cosy Winter Brights

Friday, 4 November 2011

I'm loving this skirt at the moment! You may have seen it here previously. It's a gorgeous colour and perfect for winter. My only gripe with the skirt is that it keeps riding up and 'bunching' :( #sigh

Today i teamed it with this bright paisley print gypsy style top which i got a couple of winters ago. Looks quite dressy without being too 'done' if you get me.

I picked up this snuggly waterfall cardigan in Asda yesterday in my lunch break. Yep, you heard right its by George @ Asda and comes in at a barginous £14! It came in loads of other colours too - tempted to pick up the camel coloured one next week.

A very good friend of mine popped up to say hello in my OOTD pics today, haha. I'd like you to meet Fredrick! I was having a right 'mare trying to take these shots - just couldn't get any that looked decent. Towards the end of the 'shoot' i got a bit fed up hence the silly shots, haha. Hope you dont mind :p

The Horse Within ...

Thursday, 27 October 2011

You may wonder why i chose the above sentence as my post title ... well 'The Horse Within' is the name of my friends band #shamelessplug

Just a quick Outfit of the Day from me today ... having a few issues with my tripod and its lack of co-operation, ho-hum.

Finallllly got round to wearing the horse belt from my RAK goodies that gorgeous Rachel sent me :) i love it so much and it really jazzed up this little outfit for work, very pleased :)

Played around a bit with my header - what do you guys think?

I fancied a change seeing as the white blonde short locks are long gone and i feel it represents my rock-chick edge more ;)

Also updated my button to match so if you'd like to support my little blog please feel free to pop it on your own blog :)

OOTD - Peacock Frenzy

Tuesday, 4 October 2011

Last week i went late night shopping at Bluewater in search of a pencil skirt for work in a jersey-type material.

I searched high and low for sucha thing but to no avail. I huffed and stomped my way to M&S to treat myself to a yummy meal-for-one and then BAM! i walked into a couple of amazing skirts :)

I picked up a 'Peacock Green' stretchy body-con skirt (not strictly pencil length but it is amaze!) and a black stretchy body-con skirt (more of a pencil length).

Today after a freak stint of hot weather it was finally cool enough to crack out the A/W wardrobe and style my gorgeous new skirt ...

I teamed the skirt with a silky white polka dot cami and a huge fuschia ring.

Skirt - Marks & Spencer - £15
Silky cami - eBay - £2!
Gemstone Ring - Dorothy Perkins - £3

I'm desperately seeking a fuschia coloured silky top/blouse - if you find any please send me links!

OOTD and Oversized Gems ...

Saturday, 27 August 2011

Time for another Look of the Day :)

I really wish i could post more of these but Monday to Friday I'm generally in smart work clothes which gets a bit dull and then when i do get a bit adventurous with my outfits at the weekends I'm at the bf's. Excuses, excuses i know! ha.
This tunic sits in my wardrobe for months on end feeling very unloved. I normally chuck it on when i want a comfy outfit for work but still want to look relatively smart. The sleeves are a little on the tight side but i cant bear to part with it!

I always get a whole bunch of compliments when i wear this dress which should probably prompt me to wear it more often. I particularly like wearing this tunic in Winter with thick, woolly, grey tights and boots - actually quite looking forward to unleashing my Winter wardrobe on you guys :)

I wore the tunic/dress with leggings, a plaited tan belt and tan brogues. I'm obsessed with the tan/light brown colour at the moment and practically wear something in that shade every day!

I also wore my HUGE pink gemstone ring for the first time! I love this :) it's a real statement piece. I'm a bit worried I'm going to catch it on something and the stone will fall off so i don't think I'll be wearing it to work very often.

A few bonus FOTD pics ...

Do you like my OOTD's? Shall i make the effort to post more of them?

Look of the Day - Preparing for Autumn

Monday, 22 August 2011

Hey guys, was rummaging through my wardrobe and came across my bargain jumper of last Winter and put together a quick OOTD to share with y'all.

Jumper/Dress - Primark - £5 (sale rail last Winter)
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins - £3 (sale rail)

I love this V-neck jumper, its a lovely length so i tend to wear it as a dress with cosy black tights. I always jazz it up with a number of accessories. Simple yet striking :)

Totally loving my hair in the side bun right now :)

Recently on one of my many unsuccessful shopping trips (hunting for a dress for a wedding is proving to be a challenge!) i picked up this cool felt floppy hat!

Hat - H&M - £9.99

I really like it but not sure whether I'd actually wear it (plus the bf will not approve and laugh! Boys, tsk)

I actually picked it up for my holiday but I'm not sure if it's too Autumn/Winter for a beach holiday? Thoughts? ...

I couldn't take any decent close-up shots of me and the hat so you'll have to make do with this emo-esque pose :p

Do let me know your thoughts on the hat as I'm heading back to H&M in the week to return some other bits ...

£1 OOTN

Monday, 1 August 2011

I was really struggling to find a new dress for a party last Friday night and had been searching all week and nothing took my fancy!

I then began the mammoth task of scouring my wardrobe for something suitable ... when i came across a black and gold woolen skirt that i had picked up in Primark about two years ago ... for just £1.

A flash of inspiration hit me and i hoisted the skirt up, chucked on a belt and voila! A new dress!! ha.

I love the finished look!

I teamed it with a zillion different necklaces, bracelets and a cute feather head band. Scruffed my hair up, did a quick smokey eye look and chucked on some biker boots and there we have it, a bargainous OOTN!!

Here's a little peek at the make up look i did and my scruffy hair - not quite as good as last weekend but better than flat, lifeless hair. I really want to sort out my clip-in extensions - really struggling to find some decent ones that match the tones of my hair :(

P.S. I didn't have my tripod with me and the bf wasn't being very cooperative and helping me out with the photos so i invented my own camera stand in his hallway ... special thanks goes to the drum and cardboard box i happened to find lying around, ha! Inventive, no?!

What's the best bargain you've ever found?

Orchestra of Wolves ...

Wednesday, 27 July 2011

Quick OOTD for you from Saturday.

We went to see Gallows for the second time this month and it was Frank Carters last show *big sigh and even bigger sad face*

The gig was awesome! It was super hot, super sweaty and the only alcoholic drink available to me was JD & Coke * oh hai there super cool rock chick, ha *

This is what i wore:

soz, the picture quality is not its best, i blame the photographer * thanks bf! *

Leather jacket - Primark
Grey eagle vest - Primark
Leggings - super old and holey * adds that rockstar edge ;) *
Biker boots - eBay
Tassel bag - New Look

Leopard nails - Barry M's Mushroom
Skull ring - eBay (it broke as i was getting ready :( still wore it though!)

Ok, so something different happened to my hair and i not quite sure what went wrong right.

As usual i backcombed, then sprayed a generous amount of Backcomb in a Bottle and then added Schwarzkopf's Volume powder for added texture and BOOF! my hair exploded in all its former emo glory!

loved it!!

So there we have it! Another quick OOTD with added Hair, Face and Nails of the Day thrown in, ha.

I also picked up a new Gallows tee at the gig but the one i wanted was only available in XL so i purchased in the hope of making this into a funky dress! .... If anyone has any cool (and easy!) ideas how i could go about this then please let me know :):)
