Project 10 Pan - Update ...

Monday, 3 October 2011

A little update to my 'Project 10 Pan, of sorts' ...

I'm slacking a wee bit on the make-up and Soap & Glory front. I'm really not feeling the mascara's anymore and have strictly been using my MaxFactor False Lash Effect in Waterproof - been having a bit of an emotional time recently and this has been my saviour - no panda eyes here!

Let's move on to the products i have managed to use up shall we! ...

Make-up:

Realllllly need to repurchase this otherwise im going to have sweriously smudgy eyeliner!

Haircare:

Already opened my new bottle of this stuff - it.is.amazing!! I haven't dyed my hair since July 4th and have no plans to book an appointment either! :)

I really liked this conditioner - definitely enhanced the highlights and tones in my hair. Now moved onto a Lee Stafford conditioner - more to come on that another time.

Skincare/Soap & Glory:

Love love love the scent of this body spray - still got the mini version to use up, may drag that out until Christmas and see what Santa brings :)

Predicted empties for next month:

ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder

ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick

17 Va Va Voom Mascara

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo

Will need to speed things up if I'm going to get all these finished by Christmas!!

A Project 10 Pan of sorts ...

Thursday, 1 September 2011

My beauty collection has grown and grown other the last 6 months or so and with another ELF order hitting my doormat this afternoon i have decided it is high time i had a bit of a clear-out and try and use up a whole bunch of items before Christmas.

So i here-by declare a 'Project 10 Pan' (...of sorts)!

I have selected 10 make-up items, 5 haircare items and 5 skincare/Soap & Glory items that i think i should use up. Let us begin ...

Make-up:

I have 10 a zillion mascaras in my collection and have recently purchased 2 waterproof types for my upcoming hols, what is wrong with me!? lol.

I have included not 1, not 2, but THREE mascaras in my little Project 10 Pan that i can wear for 'everyday' looks. We have; 17's Va Va Voom, Collection 2000's Volume Sensations and Maybelline's Falsies Volume Express mascaras. I have mentioned 17's Va Va Voom many times on my blog and teamed with Maybelline's staple Great Lash it has been my *holy grail* lash combo but the time has come to experiment more and i often find myself wondering what my lashes are missing out on, ha. I have included the other two simple because they need to be used up as i hate wasting products.

I've also chucked in two bronzers - my *HG* Elf Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder and a cheap and not-so-cheerful George @ Asda bronzer. You may have heard me mention a few hundred times that i go on holiday soon so I'm hoping these will get used up while I'm away. You'll see that both have hit pan so it shouldn't be too difficult :)

Two eyeshadows - both are neutral in colour and neither are used as actual eyeshadows, ha! The light brown shade by Natural Collection is used to fill in my brows - i have neglected this product a lot recently in favour of a new product (look out for that later this month). The 17 Ivory Coast eyeshadow is used under my lower lashline to stop my eyeliner from smudging, for some reason my eyeliner just will not stay put but this helps a lot (i think I've repurchased this same eyeshadow about 3 times now!)

Now onto the lip products. I have chosen Carmex lip balm in the squirty tube, i used to carry this balm around with me and top up quite regularly throughout the day but poor ol' Carmex has been put on the back burner since i discovered Burt Bee's lip balm. Time to rediscover a beauty staple!

I have also picked my gorgeous ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick which i wear everyday! I really want to use this up (as you can see it's 3/4 empty) so i can try some of the other shades available :) I have also thrown in Clinique's Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Currant which was a free sample, i love the colour but unfortunately this product is far too sticky for my liking :(

Haircare:

Two Aussie products on the table here. I took full advantage of Boot's recent 3 for £10 offer and bought 6 bottles of Aussie! I have no whittled it down to 4 (two remain unopened) so I've included Miracle Moist shampoo (my fave Aussie product!) and Aussome Volume shampoo. I'm desperate to get the John Frieda Go Blonder shampoo/conditioner so cant wait to use these up!

We also have two John Frieda products - Sheer Blonde Enhancing conditioner and Go Blonder Lightening Spray. I love John Frieda products and have been using them for over 6 years! Asda currently have a 3 for £10 offer on so want to take advantage of that!

Lastly we have Mark Hill's Blonde Diamond Shine Spray. This product was in a giftset i got from my sis at Christmas - need to use it up quick before i get a whole bunch more beauty products this festive season ;)

Skincare/Soap & Glory:

Every Christmas my mum or sister buy me lots of Soap & Glory products and this is what i got last year - like i said above i really need to get a move on and use these up before i get a whole lot more :)

I've included; Scrub Your Nose In It, Clean, Girls body wash, Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em, two Mist You Madly body sprays (the mini one is a permanent fixture in my handbag!).

I'll update you on a monthly basis - seeing as it's the 1st of the month it'll probably be nice to continue with the beginning of the month theme :)

Feel free to join in with me and do your own Project 10 Pan - let me know if you do I'd love to have a buddy and see how you get on :)

Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em ... Soap & Glory Body Buff *Review*

Tuesday, 28 June 2011

I've made no secret of my love for Soap & Glory, especially all items fragranced with the Mist You Madly scent so it comes with no surprise that i absolutely adore their Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff.

It's boasts the classic pink, retro style packaging that all Soap & Glory products are adorn with and comes in a huge 300ml tub.

The scrub is a gorgeous pale pink colour with darker pink buffing beads and is crammed with Babassu Oil (never heard of this before *dunce*), sea salt and 'moisturising jojoba and mandarin oils'. As mentioned above the Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff is scented with Mist You Madly's 'beautiful notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk.'

I'm sure you've all used body scrubs before so don't need me to tell you that you simply scoop out a handful of product and rub it all over your skin ;) This Body Buff is an extremely good exfoliator that i reach for a couple of times a week and keeps my skin super smooth and radiant looking.

I've had this scrub since Christmas and have used it regularly and I'm only about half way through the giant pot :) it will last you forever and with an RRP of £7.40 it's well worth the money. Don't miss out on the frequent offers in Boots where they do 3 for 2 or 30% off!

I'm currently lusting after Soap & Glory's Sit Tight firming lotion and the Solar Powder bronzer/highlighter; has anyone tried these?

What are your Soap & Glory loves and hates?

Simple, Soap & Glory, Dove - My fake-tan tips!

Saturday, 30 April 2011

Hey, hey, hey!

Today i'm going to be talking about fake-tan and the rituals i go through to get a gorgeous bronzed glow.

I am very pale (my skin might as well be see-through), i knew i had to begin my summer fake-tanning regime when i was lying in the bf's bed and his lime green bed sheets were reflecting off my skin turning me a green alien colour!! *true story*

We all know the steps to follow so we dont end up like a patchy, streaky piece of bacon (exfoliate, moisturise, buff!) but below you'll find the way i do it and the products i use :)

Before:

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

I have recently started using Simple's Kind To Skin Exfoliating body wash before i fake it. This product is great! Its gentle on the skin, has no perfume or colour and the perfect blend of active ingredients and loofah goodness renews and rejuvenates your skin.

Moisturise :)

When i fake-tan i want instant results so i exfoliate, moisturise and apply all in one evening! Once i've got out the shower after the exfoliation sesh i add a tiny bit of Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter Body Lotion to my ankles, elbows and knees (basically the sticky-outy bones, ha!) and leave it to sink in nicely (around half-hour to an hour).

I've raved about Soap & Glory is previous posts herehere and this product does not disappoint either :)

Again its packaged with S&G's signature retro look and has the most gorgeous smell (i think its fragranced with Mist You Madly but i'm not totally sure). Its a fab little moisturiser that can be used all over the body which leaves skin softer, smoother and more supple. Its packed with smoothing fruit acids and conditions dry, flaky skin. What's not to love!?

Tan:

Now let the tanning commence!

I always use Dove's Summer Glow which is a gradual tan/moisturiser and i use the Medium/Dark colour. I use this as opposed to a real fake tanner as its very easy to use, less dangerous than previous fake tanners that i've used (by this i mean reduces the streak and patch risks, lol) and gives me the desired colour :)

I slather it over my body in a circular motion using just my bare hands (no gloves or mitt here!) and rub the excess off my palms with a baby wipe or make-up wipe.

I dont like to use this on my face so instead i've found Chanel's Soileil Identite Perfect Colour Face Self-Tanner in Golden to be perfect for me. I adore this tanner as it creates a fantastic glow. It retails at around £25 for 50ml.

After applying the tan i speed up the drying time a little by giving myself a blast with the hairdryer all over (do you ever have little rituals that you do that seem crazy to everyone else?! I think this is one of them, ha!!) I then leave this to develop overnight and voila! A gorgeous bronzed goddess is unveiled in the morn :)

I repeat this twice a week over the summery months and this keeps me topped up with a nice glowing tan.

A lot of people are raving about St. Moriz which i am yet to try - do i take the plunge? Is it as easy to use as everyone says?

xoxo

Theres nothing quite as nice as being Clean, Girls ...

Monday, 28 March 2011

Today i'm reviewing Soap & Glory's Clean, Girls - Skin, Softening Creamy Body Wash. I've been using this a couple of times a week since i got it for Christmas and the first thing about this product i'd like to point out is that i have only used a quarter of the 500ml bottle so a little really does go a long way :)

The lovely tall bottle features Soap & Glory's signature pink retro packaging and has a squirty pump nozzle.

The body wash is a gorgeous white/creamy colour with a pearlescent edge and smells absolutely divine! It is scented with my favourite 'Mist You Madly' fragrance (see previous post here). It lathers up really well and creates a whole bunch of luxurious bubbles.

Another great feature is that it has a 'built-in moisturising maxtrix' (whatever that is!?) which means that after using this wash you can skip moisturising after bathing if you wish. I'm pretty lazy and hardly ever moisturise my body after showering so this gets a big thumbs up from me! My skin does feel soft after use and the scent isn't strong but does linger on your skin throughout the day (if you team it with the Mist You Madly body spray then you can pro-long the gorgeous fragrance!)

You can pick this up in Boots or online for £5.50 for 500ml (remember it lasts a long time so the price is worth it!)

I've just finished browsing the Soap & Glory website and am now lusting after 'Wish Upon A Jar' - 21 Day Collagen Overhaul Cream.

What are you guys lusting over at the mo?

xoxo

Mist You Madly ...

Sunday, 20 March 2011

I love Soap & Glory!

I'm addicted to their cute retro pink girlie packaging, the gorgeous smell and the luxurious feel of their products.

I've been a S&G follower for over 4 years now and my collection has grown from just owning the truly hideous Hair Supply (this is the only product from their range that i've hated so far - it leaves my hair feeling totally waxy) to having an over-flowing gift bag crammed full of their lush products!

Today i'm reviewing my most favourite product to date:

Mist You Madly body spray
"A flirty, floral, fragrant body spray featuring notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk."

I adore the scent - its light and sweet reminds me very much of candyfloss (yum!). It's very buildable - i spritz myself once i'm dress in the mornings, then do my hair and make-up and spritz myself some more and then once again as i'm leaving the house. The fragrance is long lasting especially when worn with other Soap & Glory products that have the same scent (Clean, Girls for instance - review coming shortly!)

The bottle boasts S&G's signature pink packaging and has a pump spray nozzle that gives you a nice mist of fragrance. (I much prefer this to the obnoxious aerosol can types which are very over-powering and rather chemical smelling)

Now i dont usually use body sprays as i'm a devotee to Christina Aguilera's perfume range (i'd seriously recommend trying Christina Aguilera Original or By Night - delicious!) but i have been converted and have now replaced my CA perfumes with Soap & Glory's Mist You Madly for daytime use.

Available in Boots or online for only £6.13 for 250ml.

I will definitely be re-purchasing once i've use my bottle (i'm already half way through and i only got it for Christmas!) and at this price why not, eh?!

What do you think of Soap & Glory products?
