A Project 10 Pan of sorts ...

Thursday, 1 September 2011

My beauty collection has grown and grown other the last 6 months or so and with another ELF order hitting my doormat this afternoon i have decided it is high time i had a bit of a clear-out and try and use up a whole bunch of items before Christmas.

So i here-by declare a 'Project 10 Pan' (...of sorts)!

I have selected 10 make-up items, 5 haircare items and 5 skincare/Soap & Glory items that i think i should use up. Let us begin ...

Make-up:

I have 10 a zillion mascaras in my collection and have recently purchased 2 waterproof types for my upcoming hols, what is wrong with me!? lol.

I have included not 1, not 2, but THREE mascaras in my little Project 10 Pan that i can wear for 'everyday' looks. We have; 17's Va Va Voom, Collection 2000's Volume Sensations and Maybelline's Falsies Volume Express mascaras. I have mentioned 17's Va Va Voom many times on my blog and teamed with Maybelline's staple Great Lash it has been my *holy grail* lash combo but the time has come to experiment more and i often find myself wondering what my lashes are missing out on, ha. I have included the other two simple because they need to be used up as i hate wasting products.

I've also chucked in two bronzers - my *HG* Elf Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder and a cheap and not-so-cheerful George @ Asda bronzer. You may have heard me mention a few hundred times that i go on holiday soon so I'm hoping these will get used up while I'm away. You'll see that both have hit pan so it shouldn't be too difficult :)

Two eyeshadows - both are neutral in colour and neither are used as actual eyeshadows, ha! The light brown shade by Natural Collection is used to fill in my brows - i have neglected this product a lot recently in favour of a new product (look out for that later this month). The 17 Ivory Coast eyeshadow is used under my lower lashline to stop my eyeliner from smudging, for some reason my eyeliner just will not stay put but this helps a lot (i think I've repurchased this same eyeshadow about 3 times now!)

Now onto the lip products. I have chosen Carmex lip balm in the squirty tube, i used to carry this balm around with me and top up quite regularly throughout the day but poor ol' Carmex has been put on the back burner since i discovered Burt Bee's lip balm. Time to rediscover a beauty staple!

I have also picked my gorgeous ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick which i wear everyday! I really want to use this up (as you can see it's 3/4 empty) so i can try some of the other shades available :) I have also thrown in Clinique's Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Currant which was a free sample, i love the colour but unfortunately this product is far too sticky for my liking :(

Haircare:

Two Aussie products on the table here. I took full advantage of Boot's recent 3 for £10 offer and bought 6 bottles of Aussie! I have no whittled it down to 4 (two remain unopened) so I've included Miracle Moist shampoo (my fave Aussie product!) and Aussome Volume shampoo. I'm desperate to get the John Frieda Go Blonder shampoo/conditioner so cant wait to use these up!

We also have two John Frieda products - Sheer Blonde Enhancing conditioner and Go Blonder Lightening Spray. I love John Frieda products and have been using them for over 6 years! Asda currently have a 3 for £10 offer on so want to take advantage of that!

Lastly we have Mark Hill's Blonde Diamond Shine Spray. This product was in a giftset i got from my sis at Christmas - need to use it up quick before i get a whole bunch more beauty products this festive season ;)

Skincare/Soap & Glory:

Every Christmas my mum or sister buy me lots of Soap & Glory products and this is what i got last year - like i said above i really need to get a move on and use these up before i get a whole lot more :)

I've included; Scrub Your Nose In It, Clean, Girls body wash, Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em, two Mist You Madly body sprays (the mini one is a permanent fixture in my handbag!).

I'll update you on a monthly basis - seeing as it's the 1st of the month it'll probably be nice to continue with the beginning of the month theme :)

Feel free to join in with me and do your own Project 10 Pan - let me know if you do I'd love to have a buddy and see how you get on :)

Pink lemonade ...

Tuesday, 19 July 2011

Wanna know what my all time favourite lip product is?

.... No it's not my MAC Viva Glam Gaga or Chanel Glossimer. Its not Carmex, Blistex or Vaseline.

It's a £1.50 bargain from the lovely ELF Cosmetics !!

My all time favourite lip product is Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade.

This lipstick was one of the very first items i picked up from ELF and i absolutely love it!

I love the long slim design of the packaging and that it's a twist pen with sponge application rather than the usual wand or bullet. The sponge tip applies nice and evenly.

The lipstick itself is more like a gloss which i prefer as i have quite dry lips and find traditional lipsticks to dry out my lips even more and leave flaked colour over them - not a good look :(

The lipstick is super moisturising, sweet tasting and long lasting - huge thumbs up there!

I chose the Pink Lemonade colour as it looked like a gorgeous mid pink/berry colour. When i first twisted the pen and the product bubbled out of the sponge i was a little apprehensive as it seemed much darker than that of the swatch from the website but this shade actually suits me perfectly and looks so natural (as you can see below).

I would highly recommend this product to everyone as its so easy and simple to apply and gives you great pigmentation - ideal for a casual day out or a ultra glam night!

I've already put a couple of these by for people for Christmas and gave one away in my 100 Followers Giveaway - clearly I'm impressed!

ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick is currently available in 11 shades and retails at just £1.50!!

Have you tried any of the Luscious Liquid Lipsticks? What shade should i get next?

What's in my make-up bag?

Saturday, 25 June 2011

I'd though I'd share with you today what i carry in my beloved make-up bag!

I love these sort of posts; not only because I'm nosey but because i like to see what everyone else rates for everyday use and find me some new goodies!

I stay at the bf's from Friday evening until Sunday so my make-up bag is often bulging as i never know what i might need or where we may end up!

Here's what i currently have packed for this weekend:

Bronze make-up bag - Boots - £5

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - Ivory (currently testing this out, not sure about it yet - its a little too sheer me thinks)

17 Shine Control Pressed Powder - Natural
MEMEME Blush Me! - Coral
ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - Sunkissed

17 Eyeshadow - Ivory Coast

Schwarzkopf Got2Be Powderful Volumising Styling Powder
Hair clip
Toothbrush
GHD Fine-tooth Comb (great for backcombing!)
Natural Collection eyeshadow (used to fill in eyebrows - so old the colour/name has worn off)
ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame - Light
Blistex Lip Massage
MAC Viva Glam Gaga
Colgate toothpaste (cant use any other brand, yuk!)
Kirby grips

Brushes!

This is just the selection i carry around with me. Oh My! I also have a selection of lipsticks/glosses in my handbag too! LOL!

Writing it all down (and having to photograph it separately to get good shots!) it seems like quite an excessive list, but i obviously don't use all these products in one go! ... It gets me through the weekend plus nights out and gives me options!

I tag - everyone!

I want to nosey around your make-up bags now :)

* ELF Plumping Lip Glaze Review *

Wednesday, 22 June 2011

I recently discovered ELF products and am already completely in love and hooked! If you haven't heard about ELF then quite frankly YOU SHOULD! They offer quality products at an inexpensive price (most items from their main range are £1.50!!)

I've placed two orders so far - one consisting of eye make-up brushes and a couple of lip products and then a second order of mixed items when i spied a free delivery and free gift discount code on their Twitter (I'd highly recommend following them as they post discount codes frequently!)

Today I'm going to review the first product i tried by ELF:

ELF Plumping Lip Glaze - Fiery Coral:

I used the clear gloss as as base to 'power plump' my lips before applying the gorgeous coraly peach colour. I instantly felt the tingly sensation quite similar to that of menthol lip balms (Burt's Bee's, Carmex, etc) but much more intense! The tingly feeling lasts a long time and the glaze has a minty scent which is great and gives my lips a nice refreshed feel.

 before ...

I'm always a bit dubious of lip plumping products as i know a lot of them don't work and then others can give people severe bad reactions but the ELF Plumping Lip Glaze surprised me ... in a good way :)

I noticed some definite inflation to my lower lip in particular. I think this gloss adds nice definition and would be great for someone with thin lips.

... after

I absolutely adore this colour, its ideal for spring/summer. Its nice and natural so perfect for everyday. I've found myself reaching for this product every morning while getting ready for work as its gives me a nice subtle flush to my lips.

Overall this product gets a huge thumbs up from me and for just £1.50 it's definitely a bargain!

I have a long wishlist for ELF and will be placing another order soon (plus i have lots of stuff from my previous orders ready and waiting to review).

I like ELF products so much that I've already planned to buy a nice selection of items for Christmas pressies for the young girls in my family :)

Do you like ELF? What's your must have items?

Back to Black ... *NOTD*

Sunday, 8 May 2011

I recently placed my first e.l.f order and amongst other treats i picked up the Matte Finisher Nail Polish.

At first I wasn't sure what i was going to use it with but after sampling it on a few shades of polish i then had a great idea!

Black Matte - perfect & funky for gigs :)

I hadn't worn black since my 'emo' phase about 4 years ago so i had to stock up on a new bottle. I picked up this George Quick Dry version while in Asda on Friday night and for just £1.75 its a steal!

George Black Polish before e.l.f Matte Finisher

This is the second polish I've got from George's beauty range and can not recommend them enough. They have a great consistency to them - fairly thick but not 'gloopy' - for the majority of my nails they only needed one coat! And like it says on the bottle these really are quick-dry. Fab :)

Once dry i added e.l.f's Matte Finisher which dried in super quick time and left me with the desired results ....

e.l.f Matte Finisher - £1.75

I totally love how this turned out and will be using it for my upcoming gigs (i think I've got about 6 plus a festival for the summer!) I also thought it'd look good with a bit of nail art - maybe some silver dots or stripes ... Cant wait to experiment :) :)

Have you tried any of these? What are your 'Rock Chick' nail looks?

xoxo
