OOTD - Cosy Winter Brights

Friday, 4 November 2011

I'm loving this skirt at the moment! You may have seen it here previously. It's a gorgeous colour and perfect for winter. My only gripe with the skirt is that it keeps riding up and 'bunching' :( #sigh

Today i teamed it with this bright paisley print gypsy style top which i got a couple of winters ago. Looks quite dressy without being too 'done' if you get me.

I picked up this snuggly waterfall cardigan in Asda yesterday in my lunch break. Yep, you heard right its by George @ Asda and comes in at a barginous £14! It came in loads of other colours too - tempted to pick up the camel coloured one next week.

A very good friend of mine popped up to say hello in my OOTD pics today, haha. I'd like you to meet Fredrick! I was having a right 'mare trying to take these shots - just couldn't get any that looked decent. Towards the end of the 'shoot' i got a bit fed up hence the silly shots, haha. Hope you dont mind :p

Twilight Teaser ... *Review*

Thursday, 3 November 2011

Here we have 17's Shine On lipstick in Twilight Teaser.

I was casually browsing manically hunting for a purple shade of lipstick when i spied this offering from 17 hidden right at the very bottom (!) of the stand in Boots.

I was first attracted to the sleekness of the packaging and the ultra slim bullet. The casing is very durable and has a click lid system with a twist-up silver body. It reminds me of MAC's Pro Longwear Lipcreme.

At the time that i bought this colour i was feeling daring and wanted to pick a nice 'winter' lipstick shade. I was umming and ahhing over the purple lipstick from the Kate Moss/Rimmel collection (to be honest i still am lusting over it) but opted for 17 Shine On lipstick - so glad i did!

As you can see by the pictures the colour is divine. Swatched it shows a nice purple/lilac, on my lips however the colour is more a purple/pink shade (i naturally have a very pigmented lip colour).

I have now had this lipstick for a month and wear it almost everyday! It doesn't feel daring in the slightest as its more a hint of purple on me, i think i shall continue the hunt for a brighter purple shade to wear on nights out during the winter months :) Has anyone tried MAC's Faithfully Yours?

Twilight Teaser is ultra moisturising and fades nicely rather than stains the lips. Lasting power is around 3 hours before re-application is required.

RRP: £4.19 and is available in Boots stores nationwide.

I really like this lipstick and am eager to try more of the Shine On range. Have you tried any of these?

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish ...

Tuesday, 1 November 2011

I recently got to try the multi-award winning Cleanse & Polish by Liz Earle. Now every woman and her mother has written and raved about the hot cloth cleanser it seems so i was excited to give it a whirl and see what's so special about this product.

I received the Cleanse and Polish Starter Kit which contains: 100ml hot cloth cleanser with pump, 2 pure muslin cloths and zip-up kit bag.

The packaging is clean looking and rather sleek. It reminds me of Sanctuary products actually. The bottle is very sturdy with a wide pump head. I really liked that Liz Earle included a zip-up bag for the products to live in, it was a nice touch and would be ideal for travel use.

Cleanse and Polish also has a very clean smell to it - to me it smells like a light tea tree oil come Vicks vapour rub (which i love!) This may not please everyone but it wasn't too over-powering.

Now i usually use Johnson's make-up removing face wipes for sensitive skin and have continued to use these to get the majority of my make-up off, I then begin the two phase process.

Phase 1 Cleansing: massage a 10 pence piece size of cleanser into face and neck.
Phase 2 Polishing: run the muslin cloth under warm water, wring out and gentle polish off the cream. Splash face with cold water to finish.

w0w. My skin feels squeaky clean once i have used the Cleanse and Polish - my skin looks radiant and has a nice natural glow to it. I have also noticed my pores are significantly reduced which is always a huge plus in my books and is something i seek in products. As mentioned before i have dry, sensitive skin and this hasnt irritated it at all or broke me out in any spots/rashes so smiley faces all round :)

Liz Earle state to use the hot cloth cleanser twice a day but i currently use this once a week and it does exactly what i want it to do. Quite frankly i don't have time to use this twice a day and skincare is actually quite low on my list of priorities #naughty

I feel the Cleanse and Polish hot cloth cleanser is well priced for the amount you get (don't forget you get TWO muslin cloths as well as the kit bag) although it is a little more than i would personally spend on one skincare item (as i mention above i would rather choose a new mascara/foundation/lipstick over skincare)

I'd love to try more of the Liz Earle range and have my beady little eyes on Sheer Skin Tint and SuperSkin Moisturiser :)

Disclaimer: this product was sent to me by PR for consideration.

What do you think of Cleanse and Polish? What is you fave Liz Earle products?
