Lets Get Glossy Part 2 ...

Finally here's the second installment to my Let's Get Glossy post about the George @ Asda lipglosses.

Today's show and tell features Get Glossy lipgloss 'Goddess':

Let us start with the packaging. As i mention in my previous post it's uber sleek and seems to have taken inspiration from other top beauty brands such as Benefit, Sleek and MEMEME. Cant fault the robust tubing and wand at all, makes application a breeze!

Goddess appears to be a gorgeous sheer hot pink gloss which reminded me of strawberry jelly cubes!

Unfortunately i was left rather disappointed by this particular shade. The colour was near invisible, coming out extremely sheer (much worse than the Grrrrrr shade) and was practically just a clear lipgloss *boo*

I do think this would be great to use over a hot pink lipstick to add a nice sheen and help it pack-a-punch, but unfortunately i wont be using this product on it's own.

As with the coral Get Glossy lipgloss it isn't at all sticky and doesn't have the synthetic taste to it like other cheaper brands so that's a plus :)

The George Get Glossy lipglosses retail at £2 each and would be ideal for pocket money purchases during the summer holidays.

Lets Get Glossy Part 1 ...

Today i have for you a the first installment of a two part special on George @ Asda Get Glossy lipglosses.

I popped into Asda the other weekend while needing to find something for my tea and instead of heading straight to the food my first stop was the make-up aisle! I love checking out the George make-up range as they often have great deals and offers going on.

I picked up two of the Get Glossy lipglosses in Goddess and Grrrrrrr which i will be showing you over the next couple of days (be sure to check back for Part 2!) and more of the nail polishes (I'm obsessed with them - and why not for just £1.75!!)

First up we have Grrrrrrrr - a gorgeous shimmery coral colour.

I was a bit dubious of the George lipglosses as they are only £2 and i thought they'd have that horrible plasticy taste/smell and be super sticky icky so that half your hair sticks to your lip leaving you with an eccentric looking moustache!. Thankfully that is not the case. There is no foul taste or over-powering smell nor are they ultra gooey.

I did find the colour came out rather sheer but left a nice subtle glow on the lips and they did look super shiny and glossy!

Get Glossy lipglosses do have real staying power - the shine lasts a very long time however there isn't much colour going on after say half hour :( so it turns into more of a clear gloss which would work great over a coral lipstick.

The packaging for these lipglosses is nice and sleek. A clear tube showing the colouring of the product and a sleek black lid, pretty G design and black wording. The wand is nice and sturdy and applies the product with ease.

Overall the value for money is quite good for just £2 a pop but i probably wouldn't repurchase purely because they aren't highly pigmented.

NOTD - George Deceit

Today's Nail of the Day is brought to you by George @ Asda quick dry nail polish in Deceit.

 

I absolutely adore the nail polish range by George. There's a wide variety of colours to choose from, they're cheap (£1.75 but are currently on offer for just £1!!) and are quick drying.

 

The George nail polish range is perfect for me as i have quite a hands on job and find my nails suffering the most. I usually get only a couple of days wear out of most polishes before having messy chipped nails but with this brand i get 3-5 days wear :)

 

Deceit is a gorgeous deep midnight blue with a hint of shimmer. I love how easy this range of polish applies, one coat is often sufficient but i always add a second for a fuller colour and more polished/streak free finish.

 

I cant wait to wear this colour for a night out - will look great 'rocked up' with black skinnies, band tee and is a great alternative to black.

I also bought 2 other shades (a bright orange and a clear gold glitter) which i will review soon.

Back to Black ... *NOTD*

I recently placed my first e.l.f order and amongst other treats i picked up the Matte Finisher Nail Polish.

At first I wasn't sure what i was going to use it with but after sampling it on a few shades of polish i then had a great idea!

I hadn't worn black since my 'emo' phase about 4 years ago so i had to stock up on a new bottle. I picked up this George Quick Dry version while in Asda on Friday night and for just £1.75 its a steal!

This is the second polish I've got from George's beauty range and can not recommend them enough. They have a great consistency to them - fairly thick but not 'gloopy' - for the majority of my nails they only needed one coat! And like it says on the bottle these really are quick-dry. Fab :)

Once dry i added e.l.f's Matte Finisher which dried in super quick time and left me with the desired results ....

I totally love how this turned out and will be using it for my upcoming gigs (i think I've got about 6 plus a festival for the summer!) I also thought it'd look good with a bit of nail art - maybe some silver dots or stripes ... Cant wait to experiment :) :)

The last item i purchased was this black quick dry nail polish from George @ Asda. I'm totally rating their polishes atm (except for the one that leaked and fused itself to the glass top of my dressing table!!)

I'm going to do a more in-depth post on this polish later in the week as i have a cool little thing i want to try with it :)

I want your leather studded kiss in the sand ...

My name's Kirsti and i'm addicted to studs!

I currently obsessed with studded items - i'm instantly drawn to them like a magpie! In my closet you'll find belts, wristbands, watches, bags, jeans, shorts, dresses .... i could go on :)

I find it really difficult to find nice heels for nights out (mainly because i look like Bambi when i attempt to wear them!) and to find a gorgeous studded 'rock chick' pair was becoming like Mission Impossible. Then one afternoon at work my friend showed me her lunchtime haul from Asda and had the cutest pair of little suede boots in her shopping bag and then it hit me! I could totally get a plain pair of boots and stud them up myself :)

So off i trotted to Asda the next day and managed to pick up a pair of these in the sale for just £6!!

I then ordered myself some black studs on ebay and waited impatiently for them to arrive.......... after a week they arrived and i got straight to work and here are the results........

So these little beauts cost me just £8! Bargain or what!?
