What's in my make-up bag?

Saturday, 25 June 2011

I'd though I'd share with you today what i carry in my beloved make-up bag!

I love these sort of posts; not only because I'm nosey but because i like to see what everyone else rates for everyday use and find me some new goodies!

I stay at the bf's from Friday evening until Sunday so my make-up bag is often bulging as i never know what i might need or where we may end up!

Here's what i currently have packed for this weekend:

Bronze make-up bag - Boots - £5

MEMEME Blush Me! - Coral
ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - Sunkissed

Natural Collection eyeshadow (used to fill in eyebrows - so old the colour/name has worn off)
ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame - Light
Blistex Lip Massage
MAC Viva Glam Gaga
Colgate toothpaste (cant use any other brand, yuk!)
Kirby grips

Brushes!

This is just the selection i carry around with me. Oh My! I also have a selection of lipsticks/glosses in my handbag too! LOL!

Writing it all down (and having to photograph it separately to get good shots!) it seems like quite an excessive list, but i obviously don't use all these products in one go! ... It gets me through the weekend plus nights out and gives me options!

I tag - everyone!

I want to nosey around your make-up bags now :)

* ELF Plumping Lip Glaze Review *

Wednesday, 22 June 2011

I recently discovered ELF products and am already completely in love and hooked! If you haven't heard about ELF then quite frankly YOU SHOULD! They offer quality products at an inexpensive price (most items from their main range are £1.50!!)

I've placed two orders so far - one consisting of eye make-up brushes and a couple of lip products and then a second order of mixed items when i spied a free delivery and free gift discount code on their Twitter (I'd highly recommend following them as they post discount codes frequently!)

Today I'm going to review the first product i tried by ELF:

ELF Plumping Lip Glaze - Fiery Coral:

I used the clear gloss as as base to 'power plump' my lips before applying the gorgeous coraly peach colour. I instantly felt the tingly sensation quite similar to that of menthol lip balms (Burt's Bee's, Carmex, etc) but much more intense! The tingly feeling lasts a long time and the glaze has a minty scent which is great and gives my lips a nice refreshed feel.

 before ...

I'm always a bit dubious of lip plumping products as i know a lot of them don't work and then others can give people severe bad reactions but the ELF Plumping Lip Glaze surprised me ... in a good way :)

I noticed some definite inflation to my lower lip in particular. I think this gloss adds nice definition and would be great for someone with thin lips.

... after

I absolutely adore this colour, its ideal for spring/summer. Its nice and natural so perfect for everyday. I've found myself reaching for this product every morning while getting ready for work as its gives me a nice subtle flush to my lips.

Overall this product gets a huge thumbs up from me and for just £1.50 it's definitely a bargain!

I have a long wishlist for ELF and will be placing another order soon (plus i have lots of stuff from my previous orders ready and waiting to review).

I like ELF products so much that I've already planned to buy a nice selection of items for Christmas pressies for the young girls in my family :)

Do you like ELF? What's your must have items?

OOTN - Coral Jeans - Colour Blocking Trend

Saturday, 21 May 2011

Hey girlies, hope y'all having a fabulous weekend. I havent got up to a whole bunch (which is bank-balance friendly!) but a little dull as i dont have many stories for you!

I did however pop to the local last night for a quick drink with the bf and some friends. Lots of discussions took place about our upcoming trip to Download Festival; food and drink being of main concern. I'm thinking of doing my ultimate festival survival guide before i go (i've had to compile one for some of the girls at work who are going to their first ever festival this year!) there's alot of these type of posts floating around at the mo so i'm not sure whether y'all need another one or not?! Hmmm...

Anyways, now onto my OOTN from last night's pub shenanigans:

... sorry the pics arent the best, the bf didnt want to take them and then i didnt want to pose with him being grumpy n all :/ lol ...

New boots - look pretty but gave me awful blisters on the balls of my feet and i have been hobbling around like an invalid alllll day :(

Leather studded jacket: sooo old!
Pale pink vest top: Primark
Feather necklaces: Primark
Bracelets:Primark
Coral Jeans: eBay shop
Fur Lined Buckle boots: eBay shop

What are your fave colour-blocking items? Have you got any deadly shoes that you repeatedly wear even though they kill?!

Lock N Hold ... Collection 2000 *Review*

Tuesday, 10 May 2011

While wandering around Asda the other afternoon in search of milk and supplies for work i stopped off by their beauty aisle and had a nose at what was on offer.

I spied these little lipglosses on the Collection 2000 stand and the funky packaging and bright colours stood out and my eyes locked onto them like a magpie with a shiney coin!

How cute are they!?

Collection 2000 Lock N Hold Lipgloss

I decided on Break Dance and Body Pop as they're exactly the colours I've been searching for (well in the tube anyways!).

Break Dance is a gorgeous coral colour whereas Body Pop is a bright pink (reminds me of Mac's Viva Glam Gaga!)

Break Dance (with flash)

Like i said above the packaging is super funky and cute. The tube has a clear bottle which shows off the bright gloss and a hot pink lid. Unlike most lipglosses the packaging is rectangular - pretty cool! The tube is sturdy, however the wand is not. I was a little concerned by how flimsy the wand was and worried it might snap off during the first use :/

Body Pop (with flash)

The lipgloss was quite sheer upon application and to build up the desired colour i had to use a concealer base on my lips :( not practical for nights out when you need to keep topping up! I do like the colours (both with the base and without) but the gloss has a slight stickiness to it and a weird smell :/ On the tube it boasts 'Up to 6 hour wear' - mine nowhere near lasted 6 hours, I'd say an hour or two max!

Body Pop (without flash)

All in all i wasn't overly blown away by the Lock N Hold lipglosses but for £2.98 I'm not going to complain too much. Plus the colours are adorable and perfect for summer so I'm going to persevere and hopefully find a way to work these :)

Have you tried any of Lock N Hold lipglosses? What's the best coral lipgloss you've come across?

Wishlist for May ...

Tuesday, 3 May 2011

Hiya ladies :)

I've decided to a 'Wishlist for May' post about all the things i'm currently wanting/needing/looking for. As you'll see below so are a little far-fetched *hello, Alexander McQueen clutch* but most are affordable.

I'm trying to be good and not spend much monies as i have a very packed summer coming up so we'll see at the end of the month how good i've really been by whats still left in my Wishlist shopping basket!

Lets begin...

If you've read my other posts you'll know that i am currently obsessing over the boho look and the free-spirited style of Nicole Richie. I long for beachy, messy waves and i'm hoping this Babyliss Waving Wand will be my saviour!

Coral jeans. I first saw the most divine pair ever in H&M about 2 months ago but they only had larger sizes left. I checked everywhere for them - online, in Oxford Street, eBay but still havent found a pair :(

We're going to Download festival in June and i'm obsessed with the idea of having a teepee tent. The bf will not budge and has said no :( If i happen to come across a real bargain i will indulge and get one otherwise this will be staying in my wishlist until next festival season.

I ADORE this Alexander McQueen clutch. I want NEED this in my life!!!

How cute is this!? Totally reminds me of something Katy Perry would wear. I think this will be hopping into my basket pretty soon ;)
I love this bikini but for £60 i dont think it will be mine (unless all my eBay listings do really well and i have some extra spends left over!)

So thats May's wishlist. What do you girlies think? Whats on your wish list?

xoxo
