Maggie Angus Jewellery ...

Sunday, 11 December 2011

At the recent #ldnxmasbloggermeet i was very lucky enough to meet Anna from Maggie Angus.

Anna was extremely inspiring and made so many interesting points throughout the day, I'm so glad i got to meet her :) We were all given one of her adorable Fox Head rings to take home (as seen on Little Mix, dontcha know!).

I had previously heard of the Maggie Angus jewellery range after following Emma (who hosted the event) on Twitter as she works for Maggie Angus, super cool eh!?

I was casually browsing the website the other night when i came across the gorgeous Rock Star necklace - i knew immediately i had to have it and promptly placed an order as a little Christmas gift to myself :)

It came cutely gift wrapped in a black box with a baby blue/grey ribbon tied neatly around the box.

Its featured on a charcoal grey chain and the guitar and star charms hang at different lengths (something i particularly like as they don't bash against each other and jangle when I'm walking along!)

It also has a teeny tiny white charm on the clasp with Maggie Angus scribed on it - nice touch!

I love them both so much!! :)

The Fox Head ring can be found here. RRP: £12 and the Rock Star necklace can be found here. RRP: £10 (currently reduced).

The gorgeous Anna has very kindly given me a code to share with my readers so you lucky ladies can recieve 20% off!! Simply enter: MAGANG223 at the checkout. (Valid until Christmas).

Why not treat yourselves this Christmas :)

What are you doing next weekend?

Sunday, 14 August 2011

How the time flies!?

Roughly a month ago myself, Zoe and Leanne all posted about our plans to have a little get together in London and extended the invitation to all you lovely girls out there. The London meet is now only days away (6 days to be precise!) so i thought I'd give you all a gentle reminder of the deets :)

Date: Saturday 20th August

Time: 11:45am

Place: London Victoria Coach Station

Plans:

The plan is to meet at LDN Victoria Coach station at 11:45am where Leanne will be arriving (she's travelling all the way from Wales, dontcha know!)

I will get into Charing Cross about 11am for anyone that wishes to meet there and trek across town to meet the others :)

From Victoria we will jump on the Underground to Embankment and spend some time on a little boat trip along the River Thames.

After our adventure on the Clipper we will enjoy a delicious luncheon (location hasn't been decided yet so suggestions welcome!)

Now onto the important details ;) ...

We shall hit Oxford Street around 3pm for a couple of hours of well-deserved retail therapy and then chill in Soho with some fruity cocktails for the evening! I believe Leanne's carriage will be taking her back home around 7pm ... and i have a party to go to at 8 so it wont be an all-nighter, ha!

So looking forward to meeting y'all :) Do let us know if you're planning to meet up with us so we can swap numbers and make sure no-ones left behind!

You can catch us all on Twitter so come chat !

London is the Reason ...

Sunday, 10 July 2011

If you follow me on Twitter you may have noticed how many gigs i've been too recently and how many more i have to keep me busy until the end of the year. I am a huge music fan and there is nothing better than watching a live band. Even if it's not really my cup of tea i still enjoy watching musicians 'work'.

I've been thinking for a while that i wanted to incorporate my love of music into my blog more as music is a big part of my life and makes up a large chunk of my personality. I've decided to do a little trial series and feature my 'Band of the Week' every Sunday. I'm going to try and mix some of my old faves along with new up and coming talent.

Just as i started forming ideas for this post in my brainbox my fave band made a huge annoucement so it really was an easy choice to pick these guys for my first recommendation. So shall I get on and introduce you?! ....

Band of the week #1:

Gallows

I love Gallows. My top 3 gigs of all time have been Gallows shows and i'm pretty sure their show on 23rd July will trump them all and steal the number 1 spot.

They are a fab mix of rock/punk/hardcore. Listening to them is a great way to de-stress and i know that Benji Madden listens to them when working out *thanks Twitter for that little gem*

I went to see Gallows in Southend on Friday night and was sooo excited alll week :) They always put on an awesome show and Frank Carter is a brilliant frontman.

The venue was small (they prefer to play small, intimate venues and tbh this is the sort of environment where they really excel) and packed to the rafters! As soon as they began playing the crowd went mental and everyone was crowd-surfing and jumping off the pillars at the front of the stage, it was insane! When they played Orchestra of Wolves and In The Belly of a Shark the crowd was sooo loud you couldnt even hear Frank sing!

It was definitely a night to remember. And everyone will remember it for another reason now. It was the night that Frank Carter announced his departure from Gallows and will play his final show with them on 23rd of July :(

I'm a little bit gutted for this as he is absolutely amazing but he will start recording with his new band Pure Love in Septemeber and Gallows will be continuing without him. I am very exciting for their new ventures and am waiting with baited breath to see who will replace him!

I have featured below a video of one of my favourite Gallows songs - London Is The Reason.

If you're a regular follower of my blog you will know of my love for London and this song title has fast become my motto. I was ecstatic to discover at the Southend show that they had London Is The Reason t-shirts - as soon as i spied them i knew one would be mine before the end of the night! Flippin' love it!!

I do hope you will give these guys a listen.

I understand that they are not everyones cup of tea but they are absolutely incredible live! If you ever get a chance to see them in the future please do :)

As you may have gathered from a previous post i already consider London my home as i spend the majority of my time at the bf's house but i want to live right in the City!

A little confession for you: When away on my hols by about the last couple of days i really miss London and get so excited when on the plane back and we're flying across the skies of London, haha. Yes i am a geek!

OOTD ...

Thursday, 21 April 2011

Evening ladies, thought i'd give you a quick flash of what i wore today....

I absolutely adore this little summery dress from Primark - i kept popping into my local store but they were forever out of stock in my size. On my recent shopping trip to Oxford Street i spied a lonely size 10 and stuffed it into my basket so quick that i was invisible to the human eye ;)

excuse my silly pose - not sure what i was doing here, ha!
I teamed it with a cute yellow cardi, tan pumps (and matching belt) and my fave accessories which were featured in this post.

Close-up of the pattern

I'm loving the hot weather and soooo looking forward to the bank holiday weekends :) i really need a break. I'm feeling poorly again - think i've been over-stretching myself recently :(

Happy Easter - hope you all get lots and lots of eggs :)

xoxo

We are the children of the night ...

Monday, 11 April 2011

Just a quick post to say that i wont be around much until the weekend as i have a super busy week :)

Tomorrow night i'm going to London to see The Blackout - weeeeeeeeeee!! :D so excited!!

Wednesday after work i'm catching up with some work girlies and having a nice dinner (probably Frankie & Benny's - yum!) and then we're going to our monthly Bingo night haha. Now you may think we're old before our time but it is so much fun ... we get the worst/funniest bingo rage when we hear the dreaded yell of someone claiming their winnings, lol.

Work is mental at the mo and i feel so sleepy when i get home that i just lay in bed and watch TV (and read all of your lovely blogs!) so i havent had time to schedule any posts during the week unfortunately :( my bad!

Here's a little selection of my current TV obsessions ......

.... yes i love the trash TV 8¬)

Got any good plans for this week? What are your TV guilty pleasures?

Its really hard to walk in a single womans shoes - thats why you sometimes need really special shoes ...

Evening all, how's your Saturday going?

This is my second diary post entry about my days off. This is what i got upto in London on Friday :)

Friday

So on Friday i had another day off with the bf and we decided to go to London. We set off late morning and headed to Leicester Square for a spot of lunch. We went to our favourite place - Chiquito's; a yummy Mexican.

To kick-start the day and because i was feeling very Carrie in Sex and the City i decided to have a Cosmopolitan cocktail...

For my starter i had potato wedges topped with chilli, cheese and sour cream and for main i had a delicious spicy chicken and rice wrap with fries - i was such a ravenous beast that by the time i thought about taking a photo i had already devoured half of the meal, oops!

After our delicious lunch me and the bf parted ways; he went off to play in a poker tournament with his friends and i hit Oxford Street for a mammoth shopping sesh!

My first stop was Topshop as i was lusting after these fab jeans and was desperate to try them on. Unfortunately me and Topshop do not get on very well and i had a horrid shopping experience. It was mega hot and busy (this was expected), i eventually found the jeans and went to try them on. Upon entering the fitting rooms a foul smell hit me, i figured it was smelly feet and bodies mixed together but when i eventually found a free fitting room the reason for the smell appeared - someone had wee'd in the changing room! Can you even believe this!? (sorry if you didnt want to know this but i had to share my disgust!) Ewww! The disastrous shopping trip did not stop there, the jeans made me look short and stumpy :( and then the sales assistants completely ignored anyone trying to leave the fitting rooms so i literally dumped the jeans and tag and ran for my life out of there!

I then headed to Primark knowing that i was guaranteed to get my shopping fix in there. I picked up a couple of dresses, 2 jumpers, a bikini, a cute feather necklace, tan fringed coin purse and these gorgeous shoes...

Cant wait to wear these during the summer months. Got a lovely petrol blue maxi dress that would look just divine with these :)

I also picked up some goodies in Boots & Superdrug - Soap & Glory's Wish Upon A Jar, 2 eyeshadows, a moisturiser, a lipstick, 3 nail polishes and a blush (reviews and pics coming soon)

I also spent some time at Trafalgar Square just sitting by the fountain and watching the world go by :)

I love London so much but have come to realise that i really love shopping in my local town as its much less busy and i can shop in peace (i have a routine where i get up early on a Sunday and do all my shopping before most people wake up - therefore grabbing all the bargains before everyone else!)

This is what i wore:

Navy and white patterned playsuit
Black long-sleeved cardi
Sheepskin gilet
Tan studded pixie boots
Tan plaited waist belt
A collection of necklaces and bangles

Me and the bf got a bit snap happy while waiting for our food to arrive:

Where are your favourite places to shop & eat? I'm a total foodie and love to eat out!

xoxo

Hold on tight & enjoy the ride ...

Saturday, 2 April 2011

Hey Ladies!

How are we all? I've had a fabulous couple of days off from work and am excited to share my little adventures with you! Today i'm posting Thursday's diary entry, enjoy!

Thursday

On Thursday me and the bf decided to go to Thorpe Park for the day! We got up early (well 9am...early for us!) and went to the local cafe for a spot of brekkie before our journey. Mmmm fry-up!

On the way there the weather turned a bit grotty and we hit rain patches all along the M25 but luckily once we arrived the weather held out and it was dry (except for the water rides, hehe!) Also because it was mid-week most people were at school or work and we hardly had to queue at all :) :)

I hadnt been to Thorpe Park for quite a few years so there were tons of new rides that i hadnt been on before. My favourite rides were the water ones especially the Rumba Rapids (an oldie but a goodie!) and the new ride for 2011 - Storm Surge. Basically you are in a huge rubber ring that is launched off a massive 64ft high flume - it was fun!

The scariest rides of the day for me were Saw:The Ride and Stealth.

Saw was the ride which we had to queue the longest for but this was because about 5 minutes after we started queuing the ride had to be taken out of action so they could remove one of the faulty car's (i think this scared me more than the ride itself, haha). Saw:The Ride boasts that it is the world's first horror movie-themed rollercoaster with a beyond vertical 100 degree and 100ft drop!!

Stealth for me was the scariest ride of the day and the last ride we went on. The carriage shoots off at an unbelievable high speed (0-80mph in just 2.3 seconds!) and flies you up 205ft high in the sky and then drops you down a vertical drop. This ride completely did my neck and shoulders in (i probably shouldnt have been on any of the rides with my bad neck/shoulders but oopsie!)

We has an amazing day :) I would completely recommend trying all the rides at least once and, if you can, get there before the school's break-up for holidays - less queuing times and hardly any annoying kids! There are so many good offers on all over the place at the moment so theres no reason why you should have to pay for 2 full price adults (at £40 each i think its a bit steep, especially as they are now charging you to use their car park!!) We had BOGOF tickets which i think the bf got in WH Smiths while buying a magazine!

Have you been on Saw or Stealth? What did you guys think?

I'll be posting my Friday shopping trip in London once i'm back home and have my camera lead!

xoxo

Debutante

Sunday, 25 April 2010

Bonjour!
Welcome to my first ever blog, I'm a bit late on the band wagon I know so let's jump straight in - lots of catching up to do!
To start with I'm going to ease myself in and do a lot of Beauty & Fashion threads. Done to death but it's what I know and love! I'll also be showcasing some of my handmade crafts such as hair clips and jewellery - if you come across something you like let me know and we can arrange an order. I havent set up my website properly yet but eventually they will be for sale here:

I think I'll end it there for now - don't be a stranger xoxo
