FOTD ... MAC Smokey Eyes

Tuesday, 15 November 2011

A couple of weekends ago i went to see The Blackout and got to use my new MAC eyeshadows for the first time :)

I picked up 3 MAC eye shadows recently in Amy's blogsale - Beauty Marked, Plumage and Carbon. I was so happy when i saw these pop up in Amy's blog sale as literally the day before i had decided i was going to add Plumage and Carbon to my Christmas List! Talk about great timing :) :)

Anyways ....

Products used:

Foundation: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid in Ivory
Eyeshadows: MAC Beauty Marked, MAC Carbon, FashionistA Baked eyeshadow in Double Take

A little more toned down compared to the last Smokey Eye look i did, more of a charcoal/silvery smokey eye.

Anyone got any smokey eye tutorials? Or smokey eye FOTD's using colours? I'd love to see :)

MAC Pink Swoon Sheertone Blush ...

Sunday, 11 September 2011

During our London Bloggers Day Out last month we made a quick stop-off at Flagship MAC where i finally made my first purchase!

I had been trawling the MAC website for months pondering over the vast amounts of blush, shadows and lipsticks and lurking around my local MAC concession only to be ignored by SA's so was very happy to get my hands on this little gem ... at long last!

I opted for Pink Swoon which is from their Sheertone Blush powder range. Pink Swoon is a gorgeous bright Barbie pink. A quick swirl of the brush gives you a nice subtle pink flush, perfect for everyday looks. This colour builds incredibly well and a more heavy-handed approach to applying this blush can leave you with a great pop of colour on your cheeks :)

I have a bit of a knack for picking blushes that have great staying power and Pink Swoon is no exception. After a full day of work i can come home, look in the mirror and find my blush as vibrant as when i left the house 10 hours previously (the rest of my make-up however ...)

MAC Sheertone Blush powders retail at £17.00. I have totally fallen in love with MAC blushes but unfortunately i can not justify spending close to £20 a time on a single make-up item, therefore i will be limiting these purchases to special treats only :)

Subtle glow:

Heavy Pop of Colour:

I have however already spied my next purchase which is another blush in Melba - hoping to pick this up at the airport (oh hai there Duty Free!)

What's your favourite MAC product? Is there anything i must own and put on my Christmas list?
