Theres nothing quite as nice as being Clean, Girls ...

Monday 28 March 2011

Today i'm reviewing Soap & Glory's Clean, Girls - Skin, Softening Creamy Body Wash. I've been using this a couple of times a week since i got it for Christmas and the first thing about this product i'd like to point out is that i have only used a quarter of the 500ml bottle so a little really does go a long way :)

The lovely tall bottle features Soap & Glory's signature pink retro packaging and has a squirty pump nozzle.

The body wash is a gorgeous white/creamy colour with a pearlescent edge and smells absolutely divine! It is scented with my favourite 'Mist You Madly' fragrance (see previous post here). It lathers up really well and creates a whole bunch of luxurious bubbles.

Another great feature is that it has a 'built-in moisturising maxtrix' (whatever that is!?) which means that after using this wash you can skip moisturising after bathing if you wish. I'm pretty lazy and hardly ever moisturise my body after showering so this gets a big thumbs up from me! My skin does feel soft after use and the scent isn't strong but does linger on your skin throughout the day (if you team it with the Mist You Madly body spray then you can pro-long the gorgeous fragrance!)

You can pick this up in Boots or online for £5.50 for 500ml (remember it lasts a long time so the price is worth it!)

I've just finished browsing the Soap & Glory website and am now lusting after 'Wish Upon A Jar' - 21 Day Collagen Overhaul Cream.

What are you guys lusting over at the mo?

Sunday Positive Thought #2

Sunday 27 March 2011

Happy Sunday!!

Have you all had a great weekend? I haven't got upto much, Friday night i was pretty tired after a really busy day at work so i just chilled with the bf (and picked up some of the new Asda/George make-up! Reviews coming as soon as i get round to using them!) Yesterday and today i had a lazy day which is lovely but i do feel a little bit like i've wasted my days off, but oh well .... got Thursday & Friday off this week to spend some quality time with the bf and we have lots planned :) :)

Anyways, on to today's posi-post .... i'm thinking of turning it into a weekly post with a few positive messages rather than a daily occurrence? What do y'all think??

Have a fantastic week :)

Aloha ...

Sunday 27 March 2011

Afternoon Girlies ...

Now that the sun is starting to shine i've decided to share this little bargain i nabbed the other week...

How gorgeous are these!!?

Primark - £2.50 :)

I must admit that i am not the biggest flip flop fan - i find that the band between the big toe and the other toes always rub and are far too uncomfortable for my liking :(

I am a flip flop convert with these!!

The straps are made from a soft material and are a gorgeous turquoise floral pattern and the flops are decorated with a cute hot pink flower at the front - they are so comfortable and sucha bargain! They also sold these in red.

Totally feel like im in Forgetting Sarah Marshall when wearing these :)

Bee's Knees!

Sunday 27 March 2011

During a rare weekday off from work i decided that i would check out the local mall for any treasures that might be floating about rather than battling the weekend crowds.

I had some leftover vouchers and wanted to pick up some pretty summer clothes to put away totally wear now *cough* for my holiday. Unfortunately there was nothing - i was super disappointed so to cheer myself up i decided to plod along to Boots and rummage around in there where i was guaranteed to pick up some little treats.

In my basket you would have found: the Maybelline Gel liner (review coming soon), the Mothers Day gift i've got mummy and two lip balms; Burt's Bee's Beeswax Lipbalm and Blistex's Lip Massage. both of which i will be reviewing for you today.

Burt's Bee's Beeswax Lip Balm

This is my first ever Burt's Bee's product! Shocking. I have purchased BB products in the past but as gifts for my mum who absolutely adores their stuff!! Anyways, i was experiencing quite dry lips and was bored of using Vaseline and my devoted Carmex tube which was almost all gone so decided to change it up a bit and boy! was i glad :)

Like Carmex this balm provides you with a tingly feeling when first applied - i like this in a product because its almost as if you can feel it working! Another plus point is that it lets off a pepperminty taste/smell when applied and i was not expecting this. For some reason i had got it into my head that it would be a honey taste (probably cos of the bee's!) Silly me!! haha.

So we've got tingly feeling, CHECK! Peppermint taste, CHECK! What else have we got? Hmmm... Ah yes, Burt's Bee's products are totally organic which is great as you don't have to worry about what's gone into the product and what's going onto your lips (and into your body if, like me, you are forever licking off the peppermint goodness!)

I love this balm for all of the reasons above and also because above all it is ultra moisturising which is what i was looking for all along!

Blistex Lip Massage

I also picked up this little gem! I've never used a Blistex lipbalm before (i've always just associated them with the cream for cold sores) so when i saw they had a whole range of lipbalms i was definitely intrigued and thought it was my duty to give them a whirl!

As i had already picked up the Burt's Bee's product i thought i'd try something slightly different so went with the Lip Massage balm.

Such a nifty little invention! The tube has this cool massaging tip that you gently massage over your lips and it will leave them smooth and soft. Ideal for when you have dry, flaky lips.

This product is also ultra moisturising and i have been using it first thing in the mornings while i'm getting ready. Its great as it removes any dead/dry skin and acts as a great primer for your lipstick. Perfect!

Have you tried any of these? What is your lip care routine?

To line or not to line ...

Saturday 26 March 2011

Hey girls!

Firstly i'd like to apologise for my lack of interesting posts this week - i was unwell on Monday and consequently feeling rather drained for the remainder. I have lots of ideas for posts (lots to review as well!) but i'd like to kick-start my comeback with my recent wonderings.....

I have just started getting in to lipsticks (very late i know!!) In the past i've usually gone for lipglosses as they are easy to wear and dont need much effort but since the release of Mac's Viva Glam Gaga i have gone lipstick crazy and bought around 5 more!

So now i'd like to hear your views - to line or not to line?

Lip-liner.

Who uses it? What are the pro's/cons? Which are the best ones?

Should you use them with every type of lipstick or just with darker colours? Hmmm.

Let me know dolls - i'm super intrigued and need your knowledge!

Thanksssss :)

Mist You Madly ...

Sunday 20 March 2011

I love Soap & Glory!

I'm addicted to their cute retro pink girlie packaging, the gorgeous smell and the luxurious feel of their products.

I've been a S&G follower for over 4 years now and my collection has grown from just owning the truly hideous Hair Supply (this is the only product from their range that i've hated so far - it leaves my hair feeling totally waxy) to having an over-flowing gift bag crammed full of their lush products!

Today i'm reviewing my most favourite product to date:

Mist You Madly body spray
"A flirty, floral, fragrant body spray featuring notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk."

I adore the scent - its light and sweet reminds me very much of candyfloss (yum!). It's very buildable - i spritz myself once i'm dress in the mornings, then do my hair and make-up and spritz myself some more and then once again as i'm leaving the house. The fragrance is long lasting especially when worn with other Soap & Glory products that have the same scent (Clean, Girls for instance - review coming shortly!)

The bottle boasts S&G's signature pink packaging and has a pump spray nozzle that gives you a nice mist of fragrance. (I much prefer this to the obnoxious aerosol can types which are very over-powering and rather chemical smelling)

Now i dont usually use body sprays as i'm a devotee to Christina Aguilera's perfume range (i'd seriously recommend trying Christina Aguilera Original or By Night - delicious!) but i have been converted and have now replaced my CA perfumes with Soap & Glory's Mist You Madly for daytime use.

Available in Boots or online for only £6.13 for 250ml.

I will definitely be re-purchasing once i've use my bottle (i'm already half way through and i only got it for Christmas!) and at this price why not, eh?!

What do you think of Soap & Glory products?

Sundays Positive Thought #1

Sunday 20 March 2011

So the 'posi-post' that i put up the other day purely to give myself a permanent reminder to keep my chin up has been greatly received by all of you and attracted some nice comments so i got-to-thinking and decided that i will try and post a positive thought or image everyday to encourage and inspire all of us :)

Heres my first ever Sunday Positive Thought:

This is a quote from my favourite handsome; Jared Leto <3

What do you guys think? Is everyday going a bit OTT?

Hope y'all enjoy these :)

Dont be a drag, just be a Queen ...

Thursday 17 March 2011

Today was a bad day......

I wasnt going to do a post today as i have been feeling rather 'meh' and didnt want to pollute the nice atmosphere we have going on here in our little community but then i came across these positive images and i'm a total sucker for a #positweet (if you follow me on Twitter you'll notice that i often post at least one positive/inspirational tweet a day - or i try to!)

Tomorrow is Friday which equals weekend :) which equals staying with the bf :) which equals more smiles :)

Keep smiling (normal blogging will resume shortly...)

xoxo
