Lets Get Glossy Part 1 ...

Today i have for you a the first installment of a two part special on George @ Asda Get Glossy lipglosses.

I popped into Asda the other weekend while needing to find something for my tea and instead of heading straight to the food my first stop was the make-up aisle! I love checking out the George make-up range as they often have great deals and offers going on.

I picked up two of the Get Glossy lipglosses in Goddess and Grrrrrrr which i will be showing you over the next couple of days (be sure to check back for Part 2!) and more of the nail polishes (I'm obsessed with them - and why not for just £1.75!!)

First up we have Grrrrrrrr - a gorgeous shimmery coral colour.

I was a bit dubious of the George lipglosses as they are only £2 and i thought they'd have that horrible plasticy taste/smell and be super sticky icky so that half your hair sticks to your lip leaving you with an eccentric looking moustache!. Thankfully that is not the case. There is no foul taste or over-powering smell nor are they ultra gooey.

I did find the colour came out rather sheer but left a nice subtle glow on the lips and they did look super shiny and glossy!

Get Glossy lipglosses do have real staying power - the shine lasts a very long time however there isn't much colour going on after say half hour :( so it turns into more of a clear gloss which would work great over a coral lipstick.

The packaging for these lipglosses is nice and sleek. A clear tube showing the colouring of the product and a sleek black lid, pretty G design and black wording. The wand is nice and sturdy and applies the product with ease.

Overall the value for money is quite good for just £2 a pop but i probably wouldn't repurchase purely because they aren't highly pigmented.

Kiss Ever EZ Lashes *Review*

The beautiful and generous Zoe from The London Lipgloss kindly sent me some KISS Ever EZ false eyelashes to try out which was impeccable timing as i had just killed off my pre-glued Eylure set the night before!

These lashes boast the 'Easy Place Strings' which claim to make application 5 times faster and easier.

I simply applied the glue to the lash band and left for about 1 minute so that the glue was tacky and the lashes were easily teased into place on my lashline. The strings were a nice little bonus feature that helped steady my application when first lining up the falsies into my desired position.

I then left for a further minute for the glue to dry properly and then went about removing the strings. I did find i had to tug a bit at the strings to remove them but this could be my poor glue applying skills sticking them to the lash band ...

... had to post this picture, i look like one of those bugs with the long antenna's! LOL.

I was sent style 07 which are gorgeous, full and fluttery - they are much more dramatic and prominent than my previous set of lashes but once on i didn't even notice the length and the finished look was exactly what i had hoped for :)

The KISS lashes lasted all night (i had them on for about 8 hours and the glue tube claims its stickiness will last up to 16 hours). I even had to give them a little pull to remove them from the inner corners!

One down side i did find with the KISS Ever EZ Lashes is that they were a little scratchy and made the corners of my eyes itch but in hindsight i think i will trim them down a smidge and see if this relieves the matter on my next usage.

Overall i was very impressed with the KISS false eyelashes and particularly the lasting power of the glue! I would definitely look to try out other styles of KISS lashes in the future :)

£1 OOTN

I was really struggling to find a new dress for a party last Friday night and had been searching all week and nothing took my fancy!

I then began the mammoth task of scouring my wardrobe for something suitable ... when i came across a black and gold woolen skirt that i had picked up in Primark about two years ago ... for just £1.

A flash of inspiration hit me and i hoisted the skirt up, chucked on a belt and voila! A new dress!! ha.

I love the finished look!

I teamed it with a zillion different necklaces, bracelets and a cute feather head band. Scruffed my hair up, did a quick smokey eye look and chucked on some biker boots and there we have it, a bargainous OOTN!!

Here's a little peek at the make up look i did and my scruffy hair - not quite as good as last weekend but better than flat, lifeless hair. I really want to sort out my clip-in extensions - really struggling to find some decent ones that match the tones of my hair :(

P.S. I didn't have my tripod with me and the bf wasn't being very cooperative and helping me out with the photos so i invented my own camera stand in his hallway ... special thanks goes to the drum and cardboard box i happened to find lying around, ha! Inventive, no?!
