How the time flies!?

Roughly a month ago myself, Zoe and Leanne all posted about our plans to have a little get together in London and extended the invitation to all you lovely girls out there. The London meet is now only days away (6 days to be precise!) so i thought I'd give you all a gentle reminder of the deets :)

Date: Saturday 20th August

Time: 11:45am

Place: London Victoria Coach Station

Plans:

The plan is to meet at LDN Victoria Coach station at 11:45am where Leanne will be arriving (she's travelling all the way from Wales, dontcha know!)

I will get into Charing Cross about 11am for anyone that wishes to meet there and trek across town to meet the others :)

From Victoria we will jump on the Underground to Embankment and spend some time on a little boat trip along the River Thames.

After our adventure on the Clipper we will enjoy a delicious luncheon (location hasn't been decided yet so suggestions welcome!)

Now onto the important details ;) ...

We shall hit Oxford Street around 3pm for a couple of hours of well-deserved retail therapy and then chill in Soho with some fruity cocktails for the evening! I believe Leanne's carriage will be taking her back home around 7pm ... and i have a party to go to at 8 so it wont be an all-nighter, ha!

So looking forward to meeting y'all :) Do let us know if you're planning to meet up with us so we can swap numbers and make sure no-ones left behind!

You can catch us all on Twitter so come chat !

Evening all, how's your Saturday going?

This is my second diary post entry about my days off. This is what i got upto in London on Friday :)

Friday

So on Friday i had another day off with the bf and we decided to go to London. We set off late morning and headed to Leicester Square for a spot of lunch. We went to our favourite place - Chiquito's; a yummy Mexican.

To kick-start the day and because i was feeling very Carrie in Sex and the City i decided to have a Cosmopolitan cocktail...

For my starter i had potato wedges topped with chilli, cheese and sour cream and for main i had a delicious spicy chicken and rice wrap with fries - i was such a ravenous beast that by the time i thought about taking a photo i had already devoured half of the meal, oops!

After our delicious lunch me and the bf parted ways; he went off to play in a poker tournament with his friends and i hit Oxford Street for a mammoth shopping sesh!

My first stop was Topshop as i was lusting after these fab jeans and was desperate to try them on. Unfortunately me and Topshop do not get on very well and i had a horrid shopping experience. It was mega hot and busy (this was expected), i eventually found the jeans and went to try them on. Upon entering the fitting rooms a foul smell hit me, i figured it was smelly feet and bodies mixed together but when i eventually found a free fitting room the reason for the smell appeared - someone had wee'd in the changing room! Can you even believe this!? (sorry if you didnt want to know this but i had to share my disgust!) Ewww! The disastrous shopping trip did not stop there, the jeans made me look short and stumpy :( and then the sales assistants completely ignored anyone trying to leave the fitting rooms so i literally dumped the jeans and tag and ran for my life out of there!

I then headed to Primark knowing that i was guaranteed to get my shopping fix in there. I picked up a couple of dresses, 2 jumpers, a bikini, a cute feather necklace, tan fringed coin purse and these gorgeous shoes...

Cant wait to wear these during the summer months. Got a lovely petrol blue maxi dress that would look just divine with these :)

I also picked up some goodies in Boots & Superdrug - Soap & Glory's Wish Upon A Jar, 2 eyeshadows, a moisturiser, a lipstick, 3 nail polishes and a blush (reviews and pics coming soon)

I also spent some time at Trafalgar Square just sitting by the fountain and watching the world go by :)

I love London so much but have come to realise that i really love shopping in my local town as its much less busy and i can shop in peace (i have a routine where i get up early on a Sunday and do all my shopping before most people wake up - therefore grabbing all the bargains before everyone else!)

This is what i wore:

Navy and white patterned playsuit
Black long-sleeved cardi
Sheepskin gilet
Tan studded pixie boots
Tan plaited waist belt
A collection of necklaces and bangles

Me and the bf got a bit snap happy while waiting for our food to arrive:

Where are your favourite places to shop & eat? I'm a total foodie and love to eat out!

Hold on tight & enjoy the ride ...

Saturday, 2 April 2011

Hey Ladies!

How are we all? I've had a fabulous couple of days off from work and am excited to share my little adventures with you! Today i'm posting Thursday's diary entry, enjoy!

Thursday

On Thursday me and the bf decided to go to Thorpe Park for the day! We got up early (well 9am...early for us!) and went to the local cafe for a spot of brekkie before our journey. Mmmm fry-up!

On the way there the weather turned a bit grotty and we hit rain patches all along the M25 but luckily once we arrived the weather held out and it was dry (except for the water rides, hehe!) Also because it was mid-week most people were at school or work and we hardly had to queue at all :) :)

I hadnt been to Thorpe Park for quite a few years so there were tons of new rides that i hadnt been on before. My favourite rides were the water ones especially the Rumba Rapids (an oldie but a goodie!) and the new ride for 2011 - Storm Surge. Basically you are in a huge rubber ring that is launched off a massive 64ft high flume - it was fun!

The scariest rides of the day for me were Saw:The Ride and Stealth.

Saw was the ride which we had to queue the longest for but this was because about 5 minutes after we started queuing the ride had to be taken out of action so they could remove one of the faulty car's (i think this scared me more than the ride itself, haha). Saw:The Ride boasts that it is the world's first horror movie-themed rollercoaster with a beyond vertical 100 degree and 100ft drop!!

Stealth for me was the scariest ride of the day and the last ride we went on. The carriage shoots off at an unbelievable high speed (0-80mph in just 2.3 seconds!) and flies you up 205ft high in the sky and then drops you down a vertical drop. This ride completely did my neck and shoulders in (i probably shouldnt have been on any of the rides with my bad neck/shoulders but oopsie!)

We has an amazing day :) I would completely recommend trying all the rides at least once and, if you can, get there before the school's break-up for holidays - less queuing times and hardly any annoying kids! There are so many good offers on all over the place at the moment so theres no reason why you should have to pay for 2 full price adults (at £40 each i think its a bit steep, especially as they are now charging you to use their car park!!) We had BOGOF tickets which i think the bf got in WH Smiths while buying a magazine!

Have you been on Saw or Stealth? What did you guys think?

I'll be posting my Friday shopping trip in London once i'm back home and have my camera lead!

xoxo

Weekend: Whats Hot & Whats Not ...

Sunday, 6 March 2011

Evening dolls! How are we all? I've had a lovely weekend :) Spent most of it at the bf's; living out of a weekend bag is hard especially when an impromptu night out springs up and you have to concoct a stunning outfit out of a few items!

I also had a bit of a spending spree in Primark using up the last of my birthday monies. I got some fabulous items ready for spring/summer which i'm sure will feature in my blog over the coming weeks....

So thought i'd do a post about what was hot & what was not about my weekend:

Whats Hot!

My new gorgeous Miss Selfridge floral bag
Isn't this divine!? It was one of those moments in the Mall when you're on route to meet someone and you spy an beautiful image out the corner of your eye and stop dead mesmerized by the beauties in the window display! I was a very lucky girl and the bf bought this for me as he still owed me a birthday present :)
Midnight McDonalds
There's fast becoming a tradition between me and my friends where we go for midnight snacks after a night out. Last night we stopped off at McDonalds - normally the ultimate sin but i had been craving MaccyD's for 6 months and it was amazing, totally savoured every mouthful, lol!

Paris necklace
I am obsessed with Paris and necklaces with Eiffel Tower charms. When i spied this little beaut in Primark i immediately dropped it into my basket and for only £2 who could resist!?

Bargains
This faux sheepskin waistcoat was an absolute steal!! On the sale rail at Primark for just ... wait for it! ... £3 !!! Can you believe it!? I'm thinking of teaming it with the new petrol blue maxi dress i just purchased from boohoo.com or black skinny jeans and a peach top.

Spending time with The Bf
love

Whats Not!

Cold weather
Err why is it soo cold?! It's March so that means Spring.

Not enough space
I totally need a walk-in closet!

Mental drivers
I dislike people that drive insane! I actually feared for my life last night.

No lie-ins or naps :(
So at the weekends i normally have lie-ins and/or naps - this weekend i had neither :( I love to nap!

Maybelline One by One Volume Express Mascara
Picked up this mascara as the advert makes the lashes look amazing (yes, gullible! I totally fell for the advertising) Unfortunately the high hopes i had for this mascara soon faded as soon as the brush touched my lashes ... the brush was hard and scratchy and quite frankly hurt my eyes! The mascara itself separated the lashes well but i cant get over the nasty brush :( shame as i love the Maybelline Falsies mascara.

What were you loving/despising this weekend? How would you wear the sheepskin waistcoat?
