Friday, 17 June 2011

Why hello there!

I have been gone for far too long!

A combination of Download prep, then the festival itself!, then the bf's birthday and work being manic means i just haven't had time to post which makes Kirsti a sad little blogger!

Just a short post to let you know i am still alive (if you follow me on Twitter you would have seen some sporadic tweets from moi) and i have lots lined up for my blog that will keep us all occupied for a little while :)

My 100 followers giveaway end tonight at midnight so get your last minute entries in by leaving a short comment and your contact details and you could win this cheeky bundle of goodies!

So how are y'all keeping? Have i missed much?

Excuses, Excuses + a cheeky OOTD ...

Tuesday, 31 May 2011

Ahhh, there she is!!?

Just as i launch a 'thank you' giveaway for all your support and finish my 30 Day Challenge (which encouraged me to post at least once a day) i fall off the face of the earth and go MIA!

I've had an awfully busy long weekend with the bf - we've been decorating his bedroom. This is both our first experience of full on decorating and jumping into the deep end like we do we've tackled a number of challenges. We've stripped and sanded the walls, skirting and door frames. We've had to replace a ceiling board and insulated the roof! We've then papered the ceiling and walls ... and then we ran out of time :(

So each night after work this week we've decided to keep going and do the painting - no rest for the wicked! Tonight we will paint the ceiling, skirting and door frames and then move onto the walls tomorrow and Thursday. I shall be in for a well deserved rest this weekend that's for sure!

I hope to come back on Friday with some new posts and schedule a few for while I'm away (yes, i will be disappearing again next week and go gallivanting off to Download Festival for 5 days!)

So that's my case that I've put together to excuse the fact that i haven't posted since Friday! ;) ... do you forgive me dolls?! haha.

OOTD:

Here's a cheeky OOTD that i threw together - i was originally going to wear this to Frank Turner when i met Zoe (The London Lipgloss) but i chickened out and put on leggings when the heavens opened and i practically needed an Ark to get there!!

I love love love my new top (Tesco's, if you're wondering) and think it will be my go-to tee for Download - its super lightweight and thin and will roll up and tuck away perfectly in my bag :)

Hope you're all well - don't forget to enter my giveaway for a chance to win some goodies

Gosh, what a long time :) Unfortunately the video i wanted to show you of this song wouldn't let me share it with you guys so please take time out to have a watch here.

How's your weekend going so far? Mine has been pretty relaxed so far :)

Day 3 - 30 Day Challenge - A photograph of your mobile phone ...

Saturday, 30 April 2011

Evening all, hope you're enjoying the weekend so far :) It feels like it should be back to work tomorrow for some reason but we/I still have 2 more days :) :) wahey!

Day 3 of my 30 Day Challenge - A photograph of your mobile phone:

front & back view (couldnt resist showing you my cute case!)

So this is my phone. A Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini - yep it is really a phone and yep it really is tiny :)

I loved my phone when i first got it, but the novelty has sort of worn off now, boo. I'm a textaholic and as this phone is touchscreen i find it difficult to txt at the speed i'm used to, saying that i hate txting on Blackberry's so when it comes to my upgrade in October i think i'm going to be a bit screwed with the options i'll have :/

Anyways, take care for now

Hello, is it me you're looking for? ...

Monday, 18 April 2011

Why good evening girlies :)

I am back after a week of not blogging (i have been reading and commenting though!) Last week was busy and i had planned to catch up with a few cheeky posts over the weekend but the weather was glorious and i had a jam packed weekend of fun :) :)

So last Tuesday i went into London and saw The Blackout and it was amazing!! I love this band and have done for about 5 years <3 Supporting was Hyro Da Hero, i came across this band about a month ago while watching Scuzz with the bf and i adored them and they were even better live! I recently discovered they are playing Download Festival, yay!

Wednesday i went to Bingo with the girls :) unfortunately we didnt win but we still had a great laugh and a catch-up. Beforehand we went to Frankie & Benny's - delish! They do the best starter in the world - mozzarella and tomato salad with garlic doughballs, olives and rocket. Simple but absolutely divine!!

I spent the weekend at the bf's which consisted of: 2x Chinese from our favourite place (yes TWO!! Two nights in a row aswell!!), a wander around town, pub, 99p store bargains, an early Easter Egg hunt, family get-together, buffet lunches, swimming pool, visiting piggies and goats and hot tub!

Unfortunately i didnt get many pictures :( clearly was having too much fun :p haha

Here's a couple of outfits from the weekend:

Casual outfit - silly poses

*Oh hai roots* - Hairstyle for The Blackout

Nice eye makeup for the pub

I <3 this outfit

New shoooooes

How cute is this tassel coin purse!?

So how have y'all been? Did i miss much while i was away?!

We are the children of the night ...

Monday, 11 April 2011

Just a quick post to say that i wont be around much until the weekend as i have a super busy week :)

Tomorrow night i'm going to London to see The Blackout - weeeeeeeeeee!! :D so excited!!

Wednesday after work i'm catching up with some work girlies and having a nice dinner (probably Frankie & Benny's - yum!) and then we're going to our monthly Bingo night haha. Now you may think we're old before our time but it is so much fun ... we get the worst/funniest bingo rage when we hear the dreaded yell of someone claiming their winnings, lol.

Work is mental at the mo and i feel so sleepy when i get home that i just lay in bed and watch TV (and read all of your lovely blogs!) so i havent had time to schedule any posts during the week unfortunately :( my bad!

Here's a little selection of my current TV obsessions ......

.... yes i love the trash TV 8¬)

Got any good plans for this week? What are your TV guilty pleasures?

From Yesterday, Its Coming ...

Sunday, 10 April 2011

Just a quick OOTD from yesterday ...

We spent the afternoon sitting in the park with some games and a picnic where i was originally wearing a pale pink baggy vest and beige shorts but the wind was sooo cold that i had to change before we went for a BBQ :(

I threw on this baggy biscuit coloured jumper that i picked up in the sale @ Primark - Oxford St last week for a fiver ... bargain!! I love it, so easy to wear. I teamed it with leggings and a pair of trainers for a casual look.

Accessories-wise i wore my most favourite items at the moment!! A black dreamcatcher/feather necklace, a feather and charm necklace and two chunky bangles; one, wooden and studded and the other, brown and ivory.

I also decided to wear this trilby/shooting hat that i snapped up on eBay for a couple of pounds - i love it (despite it being a wee bit big for my tiny child-size head). What do you guys think of the hat? The bf and his mates laughed at me and thought i was an old-skool American detective :( ha.

excuse the goofy looking smiles - i had an audience and they were trying to make me laugh!

Here's a few pics of the bonfire we made:

Have y'all enjoyed the sun? What did you get upto?

Sunday Positive Thought #3

Sunday, 3 April 2011

So i missed a couple of posi-posts :( (did anyone actually miss them :/ ??) I might turn it into a weekly/bi-weekly occurrence instead, hmmm....

Anyways the weekend is almost over for another week - who's dreaming about next weekend already!? ha. I haven't really done much this weekend. Caught up with blogging yesterday and had a late pub lunch with the bf and then i spent today lounging around and tidying up. Really need to work on some better jewellery and make-up storage as my collection is over-taking my room!!

Sunday's posi-thought ...

Keep smiling :)

Hold on tight & enjoy the ride ...

Saturday, 2 April 2011

Hey Ladies!

How are we all? I've had a fabulous couple of days off from work and am excited to share my little adventures with you! Today i'm posting Thursday's diary entry, enjoy!

Thursday

On Thursday me and the bf decided to go to Thorpe Park for the day! We got up early (well 9am...early for us!) and went to the local cafe for a spot of brekkie before our journey. Mmmm fry-up!

On the way there the weather turned a bit grotty and we hit rain patches all along the M25 but luckily once we arrived the weather held out and it was dry (except for the water rides, hehe!) Also because it was mid-week most people were at school or work and we hardly had to queue at all :) :)

I hadnt been to Thorpe Park for quite a few years so there were tons of new rides that i hadnt been on before. My favourite rides were the water ones especially the Rumba Rapids (an oldie but a goodie!) and the new ride for 2011 - Storm Surge. Basically you are in a huge rubber ring that is launched off a massive 64ft high flume - it was fun!

The scariest rides of the day for me were Saw:The Ride and Stealth.

Saw was the ride which we had to queue the longest for but this was because about 5 minutes after we started queuing the ride had to be taken out of action so they could remove one of the faulty car's (i think this scared me more than the ride itself, haha). Saw:The Ride boasts that it is the world's first horror movie-themed rollercoaster with a beyond vertical 100 degree and 100ft drop!!

Stealth for me was the scariest ride of the day and the last ride we went on. The carriage shoots off at an unbelievable high speed (0-80mph in just 2.3 seconds!) and flies you up 205ft high in the sky and then drops you down a vertical drop. This ride completely did my neck and shoulders in (i probably shouldnt have been on any of the rides with my bad neck/shoulders but oopsie!)

We has an amazing day :) I would completely recommend trying all the rides at least once and, if you can, get there before the school's break-up for holidays - less queuing times and hardly any annoying kids! There are so many good offers on all over the place at the moment so theres no reason why you should have to pay for 2 full price adults (at £40 each i think its a bit steep, especially as they are now charging you to use their car park!!) We had BOGOF tickets which i think the bf got in WH Smiths while buying a magazine!

Have you been on Saw or Stealth? What did you guys think?

I'll be posting my Friday shopping trip in London once i'm back home and have my camera lead!

xoxo
